"I Will never ever buy another (Insert brand here) again"
In YOUR Opinion what car make will you never buy again? and why? any car make, any reason...just a little opiniotive thread, so dont get offended if someone knocks your favorite make...
For me, im to young to have enough info to make a conclusion, my family has 2 Fords, both run great, 2 Chryslers, both are good (not great), and 2 GM's (one Chevy, one GMC) and both run great, except alittle rust on the GMC....
Opinions Welcome.......

I had an old 1993 Suzuki Sidekick that was passed down from my dad. It was bare bones (not even power steering or power breaks). It rattled so bad you couldn't even hear yourself talk, much less anyone else in the car. And it had NO guts. Top speed...123km/h, that's the fastest I ever got it. Oh yeah, and it wasn't good on gas either. And then all the problems happened. The exhaust fell off, the non-A/C heating and ventilation messed up so that it would either be really hot or off, and then in the winter the heater core broke. Before that, the radio stopped working completely, and then something broke inside the transfer case (it was 4x4) and it never drove again. OH yeah, and I forgot to mention it frosted up on the INSIDE during the winter!! Imagine trying to scrape BOTH SIDES of all your widows before you can go anywhere!
Then you have ice chips all over the place so you're sitting in a pool of water. Worst shitbox I ever owned. I can't imagine owning another Suzuki.
That's my personal experience. Based on my family's experience, I wouldn't own another Chrysler. We've replaced 4 transmissions in the 95 Grand Caravan (one at 41000km by warranty, the second at 76000km by warranty, and one at 112000 and 144000 out of pocket). Now keep in mind those are km, not miles. My mom's Chrysler Intrepid has 154000km on it, and the tranny already feels bad. It clunks into reverse, and shifts really hard. My dad makes sure that the maintenance is followed, and still this. Not to mention all the electrical gremlins! That thing is an electrical nightmare. The power antenna broke within 2 weeks of owning it, the speakers blow really easily, the sound system turns off arbitrarily, and when you spray the washer fluid, the horn honks (they managed to fix that one). Then there are unfixables like a vibration through the steering wheel. They've tried new wheels and tires, alignment and balancing, and nothing seems to work. We've also had the thermostat stick and the car overheated, and a spark wire went dead causing a misfire in cylinder #5. The car has incurable rattles from the rear deck too. Oh, and the breaks are mushy feeling and slow to respond, but that's just a characteristic of Intrepids. Maybe we got a lemon, but I don't feel comfortable owning any Chryslers long term.

Seeing 100% Made in Japan on my Maxima's sticker gives me a warm fuzzy feeling inside.
As far as what brand I'd NEVER buy, I'd probably have to say VW. But that was before the Toureag came along. So I have to upgrade from 'Never' to 'Likely Not'.

We had a 97 Intrpid, damn what a P.O.S...The day my father drove it off the lot a recall was announced...ever since then it was never the same, problems left right and center...also, every problem you metioned bout the Intrepids happened here, and the alignment was never ever straight, even after multiple attempts to fix it...just terrible...

. It looks like 3 years later nothing is fixed. I don't think they adressed ANY of those issues until the major body style change in 99 or 00 when Intrepids became bubble-pods.
No more white cars for me. I've had quite a few in my lifetime, bit the last one was white (94 tbird). When my father passed away, he left me with 2 white pontiacs to sell, and my brother is storing his 90 White Tbird SuperCoupe in my garage.
I just won't buy another white car...

I have never owned and will never own a Ford.
I *may* consider Chrysler only if it's based on Mercedes technology.
I will never get another GM, unless they get their shit straight.
I will never get another Mitsubishi.
I would buy Acura again (two in the family currently).
I would buy Lexus (Toyota is too boring).
Nissan/Infiniti is an iffy; their styling is headed in a direction opposite of my taste, and their quality is just alright. For example, I test drove a G35 with my brother and I was very disappointed with the interior.
As for brands not in the mainstream, I would love to own a Ferrari, Porsche, Lamborghini, Koenigsegg, blah blah blah, but they are way out of my price range, and exotics aren't exactly reliable or cheap to own. But if I'm ever rich enough to afford an exotic, I would get one.

To the ford bashers:
My CLS had been in the shop for more warranty repairs in the first 22k miles then the Tbird w/ 136K miles
The Tbird didn't start to rattle till 100K miles either. The tbird did need to go in for a belt tensioner at 58K miles (the cls has had the belt tensioner recall done to it already).
Resale sucked on the ford tho', so I probably won't buy another ford unless it's a mustang.
Japanese Brand made in Japan > Japanese Brand made in OHIO
Japanese Brand made in OHIO about the same as a Ford made in Detroit.

never own another Dodge. I had a 95 Ram 4x4 standard cab automatic 4x4 with a 318 wenth through 5 transmissions. I had to pay for all of them because it just came off warrenty. my family bought it with about 45 or 50 k on it in 98(when I turned 16). we went through a transmission a year and the dealer didn't eat ANY OF the cost. even though they claimed everything they did was fine. we went through a transmission about every 18 months. Dodge's transmissions are worthless. my family bought it from the local Dodge dealer and he kept on making excuses why they wouldn't pay for it and he wanted us to trade on a new Ram. but everytime they rebuilt the transmission it was 1500 bucks.
yeah, i've been through 3 tranny's w my car... but i'd consider acura 2nd to bmw. mb comes in 3rd. i just love the fact that acura is an all-around great car to own.... their keepers.... i like that the only true option is navi... that takes the cake for me...

oh... and i will NEVER own a pick-up truck
I never say never. Things change, and I won't let brand loyalty blind me into buying a piece of crap, nor will I let irrational hatred prevent me from making an unforeseen intelligent purchase.
That said, I will never buy another Oldsmobile.

true most of them can't handle like a Mustang GT or S2000 but their possiblities of use is almost unlimited.
you can haul,tow, haul people.
only thing that sucks about a truck is the gas mileage. that's when you gotta ask yourself if you really need a truck? if you do and worried about prices get a Diesel and chip it. my grandpa with a 03 GMC Sierra 4 door 4x4 Duramax SLT Duramax he can get if he's not pulling anything or anything in the bed he'll get 23 mpg. he has a banks chip and exhaust on his. which is about 1000 dollars in parts. but 23 mpg for about 425 hp truck is pretty good IMO.

Yup! It will be a very very long time before I'd look at another auto Acura/Honda.

And I also feel that in general, a manual transmission can last the life of the engine with a couple clutch changes here and there, but eventually, every auto will die. As long as you know how to drive a manual PROPERLY, it will last indefinately, unlike auto.
#1. The automatic are made about 5 minutes from my house which made you guys shitty Automatics
#2. if you ever have to do a "clutch job" it's pretty simple. you can get the parts(now this isn't all models I did an Accord for 200 bucks for a kid) took me maybe an hour that included from the time I put the car on jacks till I was done including put up tools. I wasn't moving that aggressively. I won't even think about opening up a Automatic transmission myself. when I paid to have mine done on my 88 Accord that was 1500 bucks.
200 bucks every 80k is hell of a lot cheaper than 1500 every 200k
