I went out for dinner and came home with this!
2008 BMW Z4 M Roadster in Red.
I have been looking for a new toy but never planned on buying it tonight.

Congratulations, make sure to post pictures of it! I've driven it once and it was really fun from what I can remember, the gearbox and the M3's engine was a match made in heaven, it was brutal! Mind sharing how much you paid for in CAD$?
All these new car threads today revived my itch all over again!

I have a friend with a 2006 Z4M.
It's fast and really nicely put together but it's not my cup of tea (no offense to the OP).
I've driven it a few times and the car is very solid. It's quick with a sureness about it that a lot of other cars just don't have. When it's going hard it doesn't feel like you're going to start losing trim pieces along the way. It feels like it was hewn from a single granite slab.
So why don't I like it? It's not particularly easy to drive hard. The shifter is notchy and the clutch isn't as progressive as I'd like. It's not quite "on and off" but feels close to it.
The car has a tendency to oversteer if you give it too much throttle for obvious reasons.
That's not really the fault of the car as much as my own shortcomings. I've been a FWD owner my entire life and I'm hesitant to push a $36k car that isn't mine.
The car doesn't "feel" fast ... It is, there's no doubt but it doesn't feel that way. I think that the Double VANOS kicks in at a much higher RPM than I'm used to driving at (even with my old turbo MS3). Even when it does, it's not a whoosh but more of a linear increase that leaves you saying, "Holy shit, I'm doing 90?" Again probably not the fault of the car.
For the owner that appreciates what I do not/cannot I think the Z4M is a great buy.
TSX7, I hope you have many years of fun with it!

"The Z4 is pretty spacious length wise, I was suprised my 6'1" friend could fit in one so easily. I expected it to have minimal leg room."
I'm 6'4 .....I still managed to drive an S2K for a couple of weeks...I couldn't give up the fun. Good think it didn't rain and I could keep the roof down

$36K? Not likely...the Z4 M Roadster starts at $53K and goes up to $62K with all options! And that is in U.S. Dollars!

Thanks for the comments. I was initially interested in a Porsche Caymen S but after trying to make a deal at dealerships in Canada and the US, I gave up on it. Then I started looking around for an alternative and this is what I ended up getting. I got all the options except Navi (premium package and premium sound system). I could not find one with all the options in this color in Canada. It was either Navi or a premium 480 watt sound system which is THX certified. I chose the sound system over the navi......if I really need a navi I'll just go buy a portable Nuvi or something. I will post pictures once I get it in about a week or so.....it's being shipped from Alberta.
