I rode in a McLaren F1 GTR today
I had to opportunity to take 2 & 1/2 hot laps in the FINA McLaren F1 GTR today at the Car & Driver 50th Annv. celebration at Indianapolis Raceway Park.
The car was incredible!!! We got pretty deep into 3rd or 4th gear (I honestly can't remember). The course was set up as a banked oval with a cutout in the infield for turns. All I can say is wow! The brakes, the engine, the handling, the SOUND! 20mph up past 100mph was brutal and I can only imagine what 140-200 would have been like.
C&D brought out a host of cars as well for people to drive and ride. The cars included C6 vettes, Vipers, GTO's, Mercedes SLR, McLaren F1, Porsche GT, Subby STi, Mustang GT, SLK55, S65AMG, CTSV Race car, M3 race car, BMW M1 race car, and a few others. You could auto cross and drag race the editors in certain cars and ride in others.
What a day and what a car!!!!
I have plently of picturs and video from inside the car from all my runs, but no place to host. I'll have to work on that this week.

The correct way to say his name is Chu-ba Che-ta - and yes I did meet him. He was actually quite nice. He was getting a S65 teched for drag racing. I am working on getting both video and pictures up so don't worry.

Shut the hell up. I hate you. you got to ride in a Mclaren and I'm stuck with this TL sittin' in my garage. Take your time in posting pics because that will mean only more agony for me.......
