I need another car.

I'm pretty tired so I'll make this a point form:

1-Wife and I just ordered 335xi. Traded MDX and TT.Received a check
2-All we have left is the company's Tundra in the garage. Not too easy to put baby seats in there or drive her every morning.
3- I need another car that will be mine which she'll be driving until her order gets here.
4- Must be luxurious and large but under 35K. Wanna go used. I'll be driving my important clients in there...The Tundra doesn't cut it, I share it with co-workers...
5- Plan to keep it 1.5/2 yrs until I find the perfect used 911 Turbo.

Choices are:
05 745LI
04 545
04 S430
03 E500

Help! Urgent buy. Having one car sucks

get the 745LI, but if you want something more powerful, try getting an 04 or 03 750LI. Te car is modern, and if you get an 03 or later 04 you still have a chance of extending the warranty.

I'm not sure I understand the question.

Is the 335xi going to be used to haul around clients once it gets here?

None of the above without an extended factory warranty. With the warranty, go for the larger cars if you're driving clients around.

Because you said you will be driving clients places in this vehicle, I believe a flagship sedan would be the more appropriate choice. The long wheelbase sedan options you have listed have acres of legroom in the back.

I think the S430 would be a good bet, as the year you're looking at for the S is more mature in the lifecycle (which is important for a Mercedes). The 7er has been riddled with problems. However, judging by the vehicles you're looking at, reliability isn't too big of a concern.

I would also like to suggest a 2004 or 2005 Audi A8L and maybe even VW's Phaeton. If you want something a bit more reliable, try a 2004 or so Lexus LS430 (this is also an excellent car for rear seat passengers, especially in Ultra Luxury form).

since you're looking for a "in between" car that will also have a business purposes, you say driving important clients... I'd go with the one with the most leg room and the least outdated... which would be the 745Li. The S430 is outdated...

leg room measurements are (in inches):

E500-35.6

745Li-41.9

545-36.0

S430-40.3

if it was me, and I had to choose from the list, and didn't need the leg room, it would be the 545... BUT, if I can give me , I'd with a 05' Audi A8L which has even MORE leg room 42.3, oh, and not to mention Quattro AWD for that nice weather you guys have up there

check out this 05' Audi A8L on eBay, it's asking price is $36,800... but I'm sure it's negotiable, or you may be able to find something in Canada

No, the 335xi is the wife's car and the family mobile.

I have spent some drive time in the 545i (and other E60s) as well as the E500 (and other W211s). As a driver, I prefer the E60 but I did find the W211 to have a more accomodating rear seat for child car seats.

I have not driven the S-class but have driven the 745Li and 750Li and neither do anything for me....this is one segment where the A8L is the car to get. (Only the Lexus LS comes even close IMHO.)

The 545i is a nice driver's car but I have to admit I'm a little BMW-sick these days. I narrowed it down to three choices now: 04 A8L vs 04 E5004MaticSport vs 04 Cayenne S.

I would go with the Audi but I'd go a year older. It takes another big drop from '05 to '04. I love A8s and I think it's a solid car. Too bad that it just gets crushed on depreciation.

I usually keep my cars at least two to three years. I replaced the coupe because not only it wasn't being used as I thought it would, but it wasn't convenient for my needs at all. We happily replaced it with the sedan which is still arguably the same car. I'm not really replacing it with a completely different car. The 335xi will be the wife's so that leaves me with nothing. As I said earlier, I need something to drive the clients and kids in that isn't a work/construction truck.

DO you have your own company?

I say lease a new M5 if you can since thats the car you wanted a few weeks ago. Not sure how many miles you drive a year though.
