I must have mental problems.. 550 buyer's remorse

I mean don't get me wrong. The car is lovely. It has unbelievable power and handling. Amenities on top of amenities. Top notch sound system. Lots of technology. Lovely color. Solidly built. A real AWD monster.

Yet...I'm not happy with it. I really think I would have been happier with the CTS-V.

Why? Because I would care and stress less about the Cadillac. I would waste less money on it.

I find myself looking at more CTS's on the road and noticing their advertisements.

If I got a ding or scratch or whatever on the Caddy, I don't think I would care much. I would toss the Caddy around. I wouldn't baby it as much. And on a rainy day, I wouldn't care so much if I drove through potholes or muddy waters.

I've realized I don't care much about brand image.

If I tell any of my friends or family that I have buyer's remorse, they will think I am retarded. Hell I half think it.

I only have 600 miles on the car so far (I think..maybe less?) I know I would take a massive loss on it at this moment so I am more or less stuck.

Maybe some of you crazies on the board might understand me better.

If not, it feels good to vent...

I'm also confirming it, yes you have mental problems.

Plus, I don't understand why you wouldn't be as equally concerned with the well being of a CTS-V as you are with your 5 series, I would worry about both.

Let me fix that for you.

Your backhanded compliments about your car are shinning through.

Backhanded compliments?? WTF?

i hear you bro i hear you ...it comes with the territory specially when you spend that type of money on something .....i don't know if i would think about the caddy though ...but know where you are ccoming from with the comparision...............you will learn through time as i did .....that 1 tryna bring it back or trade it in you will take a loss as you said ...and secondly ..when you start looking and comparing for what you could trade it in for ...............it makes more sense to keep it......

unless you have it to take the loss and get something else ....i would say just try ad i stress TRY to just keep it out of your head until ....u can make the switch........NICE FUCKING CAR BY THE WAY ...

Well I'm not going to sit and complain about the car because I don't really have any complaints against it.

This is more of a mental issue of mine.

Take a look at this video for example:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7sndNGhtzQA

JC talks about the GTR and how it doesn't give him the thrill he wants. It's a lovely car but it doesn't have that little bit of extra soul.

That's how I feel about the BMW. Very well engineered. I just don't get excited about driving it.

I would actually be okay with taking a 1K loss on it. Because in the long run, 1K isn't that much. But I know the loss would be more significant than 1K.

boo hoo. First you have a 10 page thread looking for a car, a very expensive and brand new car, and now you have a thread complaining about getting that car. You sound like one of those rich spoiled girls on that shit My sweet 16 when they go ape shit when they don't get a brand new BMW. In your case the show would be called My sweet mid life crisis. Get over it

You spent around 2 months planning, researching and asking for advice on which car to get and you made what you felt was the best choice. I'm sure you test drove the car extensively. Either way, you have nobody to blame but yourself.

Yeah. The only difference between a spoiled rich kid and me is that I make, spend, and waste my own money. Not my parents or anyone else for that matter.

It's not a crisis I am going through. I came to a car board to complain about cars.

I mean if you want to be technical about it, people here complain to all hell when they get a tinny little scratch on their expensive cars.

If you want to go and get moral on me, then go join the Peace Corp and help someone who has REAL problems (i.e. no food or shelter) and not any of the fake problems we on this board have with cars.

That's okay. There's a very fine line between madness and genius. I must've done something right in my life to get to where I am today.

So says the drug king pin right before he/she gets arrested and caught.

Well, sometimes the hunt is greater than the catch. You had a lot of fun researching this car and soliciting opinions here that the final result may be a bit of a let down. Cars are cars, sometimes the results don't live up to expectations (the same applies to girls/guys/ bi's, whatever the f**k you're into).

Exactly. The chase always is more exciting. Reminds me of when I was a little kid.

I would play video games to no end. When I bought a game genie for my NES, it made the games less challenging and less fun. But without it, certain games were frustrating beyond belief.

Not the best analogy in the world, but I'm sure some of you guys in my age group will understand.

On a complete side note, my friend's nephew (6 yrs old) has no idea what an Atari is.

Man maybe I AM getting old.

That sounds like a deal. You paypal me $1. Then when we meet up, bring the other $74000 or so in a silver brief case.

Then I'll rob you, and make a get away in the xi that you won't be able to catch

Damn it. The inquisitor would have told me NO SALE. I could've done it in front of my SA to verify and this thread never would have been made.

Sadly, I agree.

Focus on the positive! I haven't been following your previous thread, but it sounds like this wasn't a snap decision. The grass is always greener...yadda yadda yadda. If you aren't happy about this purchase, who's to say you wouldn't feel the same with the CTS-V?

Enjoy what the car IS instead of crying about what the car is NOT.
