I hate those rear fog lights!
I understand the benefits of those in a foggy night (or even day), but I just hate those idiots who leave them on in a clear night. The glare is unbearable!!

I agree people that drive with them on during a clear night should be shot. I know for a fact in a Benzino...there is no way you wouln't know that its on, the indicator light for the rear fog is bright yellow.

I remember seeing a car recently at night (I believe it was a Jaguar) that had a rear fog light on both sides.. It looked like the guy was driving with his brakes on the entire time. So annoying!

I believe...and I may be mistaken...those types of lights are illegal to use in DE... dunno:
They are pretty strict on those things on the street, the little blue LEDS, any of the 'extra' lights in the rear of the car. I'd be suprised they were legal to use anywhere really...

I guess the same thing can be said for people who drive around during a clear day or night with FOG lights on.
According to PA law...fog lights, which have a short-wide beam, must turn off when high beams are on. This is usually the case with OEM fogs. As for DRIVING lights, which resemble foglights but have a longer narrow beam, low or high beam headlights must be OFF if using driving lights. I don't know any manufacturer that has OEM driving lights installed on their cars.
I guess it's pretty easy to violate these laws, but pretty hard to enforce since the officer must know the difference between driving lights and fog lights, as well as be THERE when the violation occurs. If you're driving down a dark street with high beams AND foglights on and pass a police cruiser, you DESERVE to be pulled over for not turning off your highs when you saw him coming the other way.
I actually saw someone get pulled over because he had 2 sets of "auxiliary" lights on the front of his car, plus his headlights, on at the same time.

I think they have a few extra laws about lights in the rear in DE regarding the Amish carts too...maybe that's why they are a bit more vigilant about the lighting. The little Amish carts have a standard rear yellow light and a flashing blue LED. Don't hear of many accidents with them, but when somebody hits a buggy, it's usually a nasty accident with everyone involved ending up DOA.

Amish people need more airbags.
