I HATE fliers on windshield!

After the gym today, I came back to my car and there was a flier for "kitchen remodeling" on my windshield. I'm PISSED that someone touched my car! Most people may think that I'm crazy. Bottom line is, however, that it's my car and I don't want anyone putting their "greasy-I just had McDonalds and then took a piss and poo without washing my hands and then smoked a cigarette" hands on my car--PERIOD! I'm gonna call them right now and complain. And, if anyone wants to bother them about touching my car, their number is (909) 796-0264....ask for manager Bill. :fingerfawk:

Uh oh... I've put a flyer on someone's windshield before...I have my own carwashing business and I'm just tryin to get a new client or two. I don't put them on everyone's windshield, though. I target certain vehicles. I have VERY nice flyers, albeit, but I suppose that doesn't matter. I don't really have very many other ways to advertise, so what's your guys' opinion? My magnetic signs for the side of my SUV are gonna be done on Monday, so I'll have those...but still...

Kitchen Concepts: ha, ha, ha, how do I know which cars we can or cannot, ha, ha, ha!
Me: only touch cars that are yours
Kitchen Concepts: then we can't flier
Me: exactly!
Kitchen Concepts: what do you mean?
Me: is my car also yours?
Kitchen Concepts: ummm....no
Me: then don't touch my car ever

Please call and post your conversations. Thanks for the support!

C'mon dude lighten up....it's only a frigging car
put your self in other people shoes for a second...
someone is trying to feed his family just like you.

In cities like NYC in the summer, in many residential streets kids open up the fire hydrant & splash around & when you drive pass they give you a shower. Just having fun nothing mischievious.
What would you do ? open up & yell at them kids ?

You keep this attitude up about your car...you're fixing to get keyed one of these days...

I personally don't care if fliers are all over my windshield, but I hate it when they slide it in between the window and the door.

It slipped down my old 3.2 TL once and I couldn't stop cursing.

Way to stick it to the man!

I had the same thing happen this week, except it was actually for some streoid/vitamin store which makes more sense than kitchen remodeling for someone parked in a gym lot. Still, pisses me off especially since I didn't notice it when getting into the car and had to drive back to work with that shit on my windshield.
Interestingly enough back in college I had someone put flyers for the local strip joints on my Camry, but nobody ever touched the TSX. I guess they realized a man with a car like that doesn't need to pay for some action.

Here's an idea I just got for getting back at those sink fuckers though. Make a flyer that has "OWNED" in a sizeable font up top and below that the nastiest pic of :ghey: pr0n you can find (this part won't be fun, but I think it's a sacrifice worth making) - then go to the address of those guys and flyer their cars with that. If you can get a hidden camera going to catch the reactions, punk'd style, that'd be real sweet. Be sure to post it here.

Yeah, I understand that he's making a decent living. But, does he have to touch my property to do it? I'm a teacher. I can discipline students in my classroom but can't punish a random kid in the mall if he was misbehaving. His mom would smack me! Same thing with this situation--he can advertise all he wants but that shouldn't involve touching my car. Now, I want to smack him!

As far as the kids in NYC, I simply wouldn't go down that street. Why, would you? Would you say, "wow, I see kids have opened up a fire hydrant and water is splashing everywhere. I think it would be a great idea if I drive near them, got my car wet with a high risk of water spots, and then just smile and drive on."

You do have a point though--that guy could key my car. However, how sad that I have to "lighten up" my attitude about my car or else someone will key it. Like I said eariler...don't touch my car. I think that includes keying it.

No way man. I'd just mix in some unconcentrated HCL into that fire-hydrant's tap so the kids get taught a lil lesson the next time they open that shit up. Up yours, children! :fingerfawk:

Am I the only one who doesn't understand the point of calling and chewing out the guys who put flyers on your cars? They don't care if you're not happy about the flyer on your car. You're yelling at a closed ear. Instead, you're just making a fool of yourself.

Sure, it would be a different story if they damaged your car in the process, but really there's nothing you can do about people putting flyers on your windshield. It will always be done, no matter what.

I wonder if there are any laws about this. After all, it's illegal to trespass. I'll look into it.

Forgive me for being rude, but it just seems a little petty to me. Sure, you take pride in your car, and I respect that. But yelling at someone about putting a flyer on your car? It's like yelling at someone for knocking on your door.

No disrespect intended, but that's all just IMHO...

Dude, if somebody knocks on my door who I didn't ask for you better believe they're gettin' a yellin', at the very least. I always have a blast fucking with solicitors.

Not really though. Doors and meant for knocking on. Cars obviously aren't made for posting ads, right?

Hey ccarbajal08, can i get a picture of your car?
its because i want to know which car is yours so i can stay away from it. haha. You must really love and care for your car. I sometimes get paranoid when people are around or when cars are being parked or when i street park my car. My past car was hit while i had it parked on the street.

I'd say it''s like yelling at someone on the street for farting

Maybe this will work:
put 2 things on the dash..

1) Something that gives the impression you're a cop
2) Big ass sign that says "NO FLYERS - Alarm will go off!" something like that

I hate flies on windshield.

Oops, the thread reads "fliers", not "flies". Hell to it, they are the same issues to me.

i dont think there is much of a need to yell at anyone, but i is definately no need to touch someones car because you want to further a business, it would be the SAME thing if someone came into your yard and posted a sign....I am sure none of you guys would be ok with that. Its just about people's space.

The thought of my car getting scratched by one of the flier people bothers me a lot more than actually having the flier on my windshield. Fortunately, I think the TSX is low enough that most average sized people can reach the windshield without completely leaning on the car.

Now you want to talk about irritating. I live in a townhouse complex and our buildings have recessed entrances. So instead of walking the extra fifteen feet to our front doors, some of the flier f&cks will rubberband their ads to our garage door handles. That's always a joy to find when it's raining as you come home from a crappy day at work.

Also, we find flyers and business cards and other crap just tossed in the direction of our front porch.

I love flyers... they are so much fun and a great surprise when I come out to my car after my hard working day...

NOT!!!

But my mom loves flyers on her car. She looks them over and comments on how nice such and such service would be... then again, we are talking about an Asian mother, so...

Junkster, who hates business cards even more

Can anyone tell me if fingerprints (basically finger oil impressions) are oxidizers just like bird crap and sap? Can fingerprints theoretically ruin the paint over time?

Good point...yelling at him would be pointless. However, I should post a sign on his yard about my school where I teach at. Same idea, right?

I had a white Camry many years ago. Someone left a cheap neon green fly( sorry, can't remember what the flyer was for) on my car. As wind picked up and shower came, the flyer flew on the driver side of the hood. The flyer was than totally soaked by than. As the sun came out later( that's how the weather is in Vancouver), the sun ray dried the soaked flyer and bleeded/printed all the color on my car! I took me hours try to wash the collor off! I was so mad! Now I just pu my new PWP TSX. Oh God! Plz dont let it happen again!

Robert, that's what a clay bar is for. Have you clayed your car yet to get off the exhaust particles off of your car. I did that and followed up with NXT and the car shines. PM me if you want more info how to do this or pics.

Well, if everyone is going to continue getting worked up about someone *gasp* touching their windshield wiper and maybe, even worse, their windshield or paint, all the power to you--continue to let it ruin your day. I just don't see the point. Sure, it's your personal space...but to be livid about it and chew someone out about it? Come on...sounds like the latest release of Grumpier Old Men.
