Nice location. Looks mysterious without being able to see the horizon.

I think a little tire shine will help a bit.

I really like that interior shot. I could see that in a magazine or on a website!

Isn't installing the drift button a PITA? It seems like it from the DIY I saw.

I used up the last of mine before I had time to take pictures. Any recommendations on a brand, because the stuff I was using sucked.

I just painted the dash panel a dark grey and got checkered floor mats. I still have to install carbon fiber mirror covers I bought last week. I'm hoping to get a lip kit/pulley/ or sway bars next.

I use Adam's Premium Car Care Products for all of my car cleaning needs.

I recommend using the Super VRT Tire & Trim Dressing for the wheels. It isn't greasy like a lot of other tire shine products and I also use it for all my rubber trim. Very easy to put on and since it's not a spray you don't have to worry about it getting everywhere.

Shirts will be black with white graphics, the car is going to be 17" long starting on the front and wrapping around the side to the back. I'm pricing these at $25.50 shipped (because you're not all the way in Canada ).

Email me at meehowdesign@gmail.com with your shipping address / # of shirts / sizes and I'll send you a paypal invoice.

Sucks! Even more so, I went out to my car and saw that the glass is AGC... Toyota OE supplier. Toyota glass sometimes costs double what Subaru does. No idea why.

Got quoted for $600 + tax + installation from the local Subaru dealership... I'm going to go with the shop that quoted me for $225 installed instead.

July time update:

Got my carbon fiber mirror covers on, switched out the BRZ fender vents for wrapped FR-S vents, and got myself a high quality replica STI style front lip.

I didn't even get pictures of the OG AE86, Supra, and rhd R32 that showed up later.

The only thing that really wasn't doing it for me was a version 1 rocket bunny, maybe its because those things are all over the web and don't seem very unique anymore... that version 2 though.

Starved Rock cruise

Had a small group of FR-S/BRZ's, a WRX, and a STi cruise out to Starved Rock this past Sunday. I got stuck with the unenviable task of having to keep up with the WRX and Sti when our group got separated.

Gorgeous landscape! I need to go out and find more hiking trails.

If I lived somewhere without any twisty roads, and I actually needed a backseat, I would probably get a WRX. I sometimes recommend people to not get a twin because really, it's a 3-seater. My seat is lowered to the ground and anyone sitting behind me will complain.

The twins aren't for everyone. Low-end torque is preferable to most people in a daily, especially if they have enthusiast leanings.

I am going to test drive a WRX, but I'm fairly confident it won't have the same magic that I know and love. I have a strong feeling that it's a great car though.

Nice photos! I've never been out there. Seems to be only about a 2 hour drive for me. I should check it out. Do you have any suggestions for what to do or see while there (besides hit the trails)?

What do you think of the new WRX and STi?

The twins aren't for everyone. Low-end torque is preferable to most people in a daily, especially if they have enthusiast leanings.

I am going to test drive a WRX, but I'm fairly confident it won't have the same magic that I know and love. I have a strong feeling that it's a great car though.
Oh for sure. It's certainly not a comfy pocket rockets. If people need to haul stuff a lot and friends, I wouldn't recommend it.

It's just like S2K and Miata... well not as inconvenient as those. A little better than those.

What do you think of the new WRX and STi?
If you get there early enough before the families start showing up you can let your car loose on some pretty twisty roads near the park. That, by far, is the best experience. They have boat rentals too, but I haven't tried that yet.

They're really quick (obviously) and the STi actually looks pretty sweet in person. Add a lip, spoiler, and aftermarket wheels to the WRX and they're pretty indiscernible. The only really down sides for me were the exhaust tones, I think both guys had aftermarket cat-backs, that did not sound good, and the look of the rear end. The WRX, without the crazy wing, just looks like a Corolla from the back... the STi looks like a Corolla with a giant wing.

Coming from a Miata, this car seems like a station wagon in terms of storage capacity.
