Since its been rain-snowing the last couple weeks I haven't been able to wash my car and take any good pictures. So here are a few from the first couple days of owner ship.

My dad made a temporary license plate holder until my Grimmspeed relocater came in. (you can also see my old RL in the background)

The only issues I've had so for are:

1. A passenger side window that wouldn't open with the driver side opener, that took 15 seconds to reset.

2. A burning smell that according to Subaru is just extra lubricant being burned off in the transmission. (a couple people on the FR-S/BRZ have had the same thing happen to them) It has seemed to have disappeared lately.

3. The shifter not wanting to go into first gear from time to time. This only happens when its cold out... which is all the time currently. Plus I don't get to drive the car for long periods of time so maybe I still have to get the car used to it.

4. The nav system kind of sucks. I've used it to see the roads it wants me to take places, and it always picks weird routes that would take me off track and involve a lot more switching roads then necessary.

Aside from that its a fun car. I'm obviously never going to beat someone in a drag race, but I'd be a happy loser.

Re:

2. Thats completely normal. Many will smell like they were burning for the first 100 miles or so. Mine had a little bit of smoke too, almost looked like it was overheating, but it wasnt.

3. Thats the transmission. Swapping out for different fluid may help a bit, but its the nature of the beast. Mine is quite notchy when its cold, but once its up to operating temp its decently smooth. Its nowhere near as smooth as a Honda box though.

Whats your mileage?

Great looking car indeed! Great color choice! Small problems to deal with too I think all car navi's suck, I'll never buy a car with one again.

Any mods planned?

The touch screen is cool, but if I could have gotten it without the nav I definitely would have.

Short list of mods I'd like to have done by the end of April:

wheels (either buy new ones or get wheel adapters and use the ones off my Miata)

lowering springs

spoiler (I have a love hate relationship with the stock spoiler)

exhaust

Nice ride. I was behind one last night. That rear end is very unique. Definitely stands out from the rest of the pack.

Well....once you mount those tires on your car I'll take the car off your hands.

Congrats.

Its still too cold outside to do any exterior mods, but I did have time to make a new startup screen for the nav system.

It is a spoiler!

Its the Zeta Performance cf spoiler. I was planning to put it on today but found this chip in it, so emailed them about the best way to cover it up before I install it. I also need to debadge the Subaru and BRZ lettering beforehand since those would get in the way of spoiler when mounting.

Not bad. What tires are you running? I'd suggest looking at sway bars next. I was surprised by the difference they made.

Thanks for the tip. I'm going to look into sways and an exhaust as my next steps.

She rides pretty good, the handling is sharp and firm but not as sharp as my Miata was. But that car had a suspension package on it and the BRZ is still stock.

I took new pictures recently. Still haven't had time to get it lowered but at least I have a decent exhaust on it now.

Nice. Now get that ish lowered ASAP. If you keep waiting/putting it off, you'll turn into JS + MS3 and never get it done.

Nice exhaust. Provide some video clips! It is pretty flashy looking, though.

Also not sure what's going on with the fuel door and the stickers on the rear side windows.

Since I didn't want my BRZ to be lifted for too much longer I picked up a set of these. Since this is my DD (winter included) and I drive on some pretty crappy roads a 1" drop seemed like a good amount for me. Hopefully I'll have time next weekend to put these on and take before and after shots of my ride height.

I did the fogs to break up all the lights the front has. I really wish they had incorporated the fogs into the headlights. But I know what you're saying, its a bit more jdm then I usually go.

I didn't realize this at first but the pictures make it look black. Its actually a carbon fiber pattern, it matches the spoiler a lot better in real life... and a lot closer up.

The sticker is actually my personal design logo. I really like penguins.

Since my D-SLR is ancient and doesn't record video here's a vid of someone's FR-S with the N1 catback. After a couple weeks I got used to the drone and the sound is perfect. It sounds like a beast at startup though, and I can hear it throughout the house until the revs drop to 1,000.

Finally got a before and after comparison for the springs. The car is about 1" lower but I still have enough clearance that I'm not hitting my undercarriage on chunks of snow. I also took a photo of my car with its winter wheels/tires with my potato this morning:

^^ Agreed with the last two replies. The other wheels make it look very Scion Tc to me. Either way, sweet ride. I've always liked these cars...

Its been snowing a little bit around here lately. I've been pleasantly surprised how well my car has been doing in this weather.
