I finally bought a car
After months and months of posting threads like "have you owned this car before" and "what do you guys think of these" I went out on a determined search to find a car. I was for sure going to get an F-Body, but I'm an ass man and I just think the rear of the Camaro is sexier than the T/A (which is also sexy). I picked this one up last Tuesday, have done no mods to it so far, jury's still out on the flowmaster muffler with quad tips.... and no I haven't washed it yet.

And a short clip.... it was short because some people in a trailer nearby came outside

I agree with Jesal... you guys should post more threads with pics of your cars.

Congrats Costco! Have fun with it.
Sidenote: Just looking at this F-body makes me realize how much hotter the upcoming Camaro looks!!
Definitely gonna get a drop and some wheels, tint, but don't know how much. A lot of F-Body guys go with springs+shocks but then again they're not exactly all about handling. I wanna get some ZR-1 or SS wheels
I'm loving this car....

Costco, hit up LS1-tech.com
1st things first-Get rid of the Blowmaster exhaust. It's only good on stangs because they are true duals and flow different. Flowmaster muffler dynos prove that the flowmaster mufflers chop about 12-15 horses from an LS1 f body with the stock Y-pipe setup.
2nd-Replace the factory lid with an after-market one. A new lid is only like 100 bucs and will net you about 15 horses. Plus it takes 20 minutes to install. Enjoy the LS1 and if you need anything, i have plenty of experience with modding LS1 fbods. And if you want to do your suspension, contact Sam Strano(google) and get his springs, sways and revalved bilsteins. His combo is good for 1.4 60ft on my car, and handles auto x's like nothing. Good luck and welcome to the dark side.

But either way its a 6M/T and not a 4A/T and it should pull low 13s. Drop a cam in that and we're down to low 12s.

hey, I remembered seeing a thread about you purchasing the ride that you wanted as well, and wanted to stop by and congratulate you in return! I ALMOST bought a '99 Z28 6spd before getting the 'lude, but changed my mind last minute. Those things have BALLS. How are you liking it? Has the mod bug attacked you yet?

I'll definitely have an update by the end of this year. Might not be much though.
damn man I missed this thread.. CONGRATS! treat her well and she'll do the same in return.. Just please don't be like a lot of idiot kids your age.. From seeing you around this board for some time now, I'm pretty sure you're very mature for your age.. Once again GRATS!
Long overdue update
Just washed, clayed, polished and waxed her for the first time with the help of a friend... I never did all of it before.
The paint feels so nice and smooth every time I open/close the doors.
Its been an interesting ownership experience. She's my daily, and I have had no mechanical problems since I got it, aside from leaky t-tops, since the seals on the tops are 7+ years old now and dry rotting. Still, the t-tops are great fun (especially with the weather we're getting these days!) and the hatch has proved to be useful MANY times over. As for driving it, my car never came with traction control.... lets just say I became a hell of a better driver reigning in 300 rwhp/rwtq without traction control.
mods since last update:
I know.... I've been slow to mod. I'm not ballers like some of you guys! That will change once I find a better paying job and finish paying off the car. The car handles MUCH better after the springs and shocks.... got em dialed in pretty much the way I want it at the moment. Rides like stock, stays flat in the corners, and the Konis are excellent with oscillation control. They've convinced me to never cheap out on shocks again... I'm pretty much going to put Koni Yellows on every car I get in the future if there isn't a better option. I saved the stock suspension parts but I'm considering throwing those pieces of shit in the garbage, just because they blow donkey nuts that much. I'm going to try and debadge it and take off the side moldings one of these days. or I may just get a C5 Z06 if all works out well
Here's a couple of videos of the exhaust. If you can't tell I like the sound of it a lot and I want to share.
Camera microphone sucks so turn it up:
