I am going crazy this winter with the rattle!!

i searched all the threads with sunroof and other rattles, but most of them don't tell me how to fix it other than the silicon on the rubber. and i am way out of warranty so can someone help me out?

it's a tapping/knocking sound whenever i go over ANY kind of bump. there are 2 black plastic pieces of frame underneath the sunroof glass, near the front, on both sides, that i can push and it hits the glass, i think that's where the sound is coming from. anyone else have any experience with it? i'm pretty sure it's these black plastic parts hitting the glass.

can i just remove those plastic pieces all together? please help!

what kind of car is it, Rich? seems like this should've been in whatever forum your car is, but you'll probably get some help here, too, if it isn't moved.

without pictures, it's a little tough to tell exactly what kind of area you're talking about, but if you want something compact that will not stick to the glass when the plastic bounces up & hits it, you may consider some of those small, sticky felt dots. I've gotten rid of a few rattles in my cars with those, but none of them have been on moving parts (don't know if the plastic moves and subsequently would rub off the dots when you open the sunroof).
