So a while back, I explained in my G35 thread that I had found out my car had a k40 radar detector jammer installed to my surprise

So today, I went to the Infiniti Dealer to get my tranny fluid serviced and while there I asked for a vehicle service history report. She handed it over and as I was checking it out, I noticed that the K40 Radar/Jammer was listed as being installed back in 2007 when the car was purchased new. It was Installed at Infiniti, I thought that was interesting and also good. This way if they give me shit about it in the future, I can show them that they installed it

The thing that got my attention is that it also listed a "Vehicle Tracking Device" was installed on the same day as the radar detector. I assume it is a lojack system which would be awesome but I have no idea how to identify if I have one even installed? The web isn't helping too much.

Any ideas?

Good question. I would just call the dealer and see what they can tell you.

After what you guys said and from the little info i could find online I can either see if the original dealer who sold the car has any info, or I can call Lojack and have a guy come check to see if I have one which will cost $$

I'll let you know what I find out

Got nothing to lose by calling the original dealer, worse case they say no on the info. Can't think of a reason why they wouldn't though.

So the Inifniti Dealer was of no use. All she kept saying was that they cannot confirm if there is LoJack in the car. I said, You gave me paperwork stating that you guys installed a vehicle tracking device, and she said yes but I can't give you anything else more than that. Ugh. she said to contact lojack.

so I just called Lojack and she said sure we can tell you! Just fax us a copy of your License, Reg and Contact info and we will get back to you to let you know. I said great! Then what? she says "Well our second owner transfer program has been suspended indefinitly" I said what does that mean? She said "That means that even if you do have it installed, we cannot register it to your name or give you paper work so that you can get your insurance discount.

I asked, so what the point of me faxing my info to you? She said "Well you can still have your Local PD activate your LoJack if your car gets stolen so that it can be found"

So I guess its worthless for an Insurance discount if I do have it (which I was looking Forward to) but it still should work if the car gets stolen....

Guess I'll Fax my stuff over one of these days.
