Seems pointless to me and quite annoying - anyone has idea how to do this ?

 

On "old" cars there used to be just a relay like buzzer that you could unplug, but with newer cars, who knows what the deal is...

 

Umm...take the key out or close the door.

 

there's still a relay, but its not about unplugging, because if you unplug it, it will disconnect everything else in the whole steering column. you have to snip the exact right wire.. the problem is, its bunched up with 40 other small wires. your best luck is to borrow a repair manual from someone that has it for your specific car and year model..
