VSA in my S2000 is not intrusive at all. I've only 'had' to disable it for track use simply because I was doing some serious power oversteer that was very intentional.

Rarely. My X3 got stuck in a snow bank once, disabled the traction control, and managed to crawl out of it.

wow.. i thought more people did. I always turn it off as soon as i start the car. It's become a reflex really... the only time i would leave vsa on is during rain or snow. If its a clear normal day, vsa off 100% of the time.

^ See, I feel like traction control should be used completely the opposite.

VSA has gotten me out of some sticky situations. Most recently exiting the highway.

Instead of your usual 40 mph exit ramp speed, this one was 20 and I was doing about 80 a few hundred meters from the apex of the ramp.

I geared down as fast as I could and braked accordingly. No doubt VSA saved my ass there.

It was one of those situations where you felt the need to hang on to something else in addition to the steering wheel.

Because it's in low-traction situations (i.e. snow) where they tend to do more harm than good. Sometimes you want to be able to spin your tires a little bit.

only time I turned off VSA is when starting off in heavy snow... but have not had to do that for the last few years as the Subaru is the daily driver in the winter time and the CL-S sleeps in a garage...
