14.2 for the 6 speed. Someone on v-tech.net tested it. The auto is laying down 219whp so I believe it'll run a 14.4-14.5 stock. We'll soon enugh see

they grab the extra 10 HP from a stock cold air intake and .5 more compression I think, right?

let me get this straight:
they have only 10 more hp than a type s, yet they are able to put down at least 15 more hp to the wheels?
so either they have more than 270(it does feel like it), their tranny is more efficient (also very possible), or our cars do not have 260 at the crank.

anybody have dynos of the 04 TL in either tranny form?

I will be dynoying my TL soon but i have seen them only put down 10 more on the dyno charts i have seen. i know my tl 6speed is faster than my auto tl-s and that ran 14.5 96mph that was the best and that was auto i think the tranny some how is more efficent. Also i noticed like the s2000 the 04tl only drops 500 rpm between shifts how is it on the cl-s 6 speed

Cant remember if it was road and track or car and driver, but they gave the tl a 0-60 of 5.7 seconds, and the quarter i cant remember for sure, but it was low to mid 14.

Re: How fast are the new TL's?

My friend has a '01 CL-S (with cold air intake). He dragged his father in-law's '04 TL and the cars are pretty much neck in neck the whole way.

Keep in mind it's just 10 ponies, and the TL is a little heavier so it eats them up.

I don't know how you could say the engine is underated, again.

It's the same block as the CL, with a minor change in the compression ratio.

go look on acura-tl.com...someone dynoed an auto 04TL at 219whp...and then 225whp w/ a K+N Flat filter...now an 01 CL-S will only lay down approx 200whp. So you have either better gearing, a less parasitic tranny, or AN UNDERRATED ENGINE!!!

i am wondering... r u using the same fuked up auto tranny in the new TL as CLS?

the new TL with 6speed 1/4 r almost identical with G35C 6speed. maybe .1 or .2 slower.

This has probably not been posted so let me share the knowledge: a test by www.vtec.net showed the TL running the 1/4 in 14.2s @ 98 mph. This is the 6-speed manual version. The automatic is about as fast as a 2002/2003 TL Type S.

I'm not too certain about the 6MT but I test drove the auto this weekend and it didnt feel particularly quicker than my 2k2 Maxima but I have no doubt that it'll trap faster than my Max.

IMO, I dont think it'll be much quicker or faster than the current CL-S (auto/6mt) but it's a much nicer car than the last CL/TL; which is saying ALOT for the 2k4, seeing as the CL/TL Type S is REALLY sweet.

Wrong. The new TL is about 50lbs heavier than the old TL-S/CL-S with similar drivetrains.

As vandy said.... the manual TL should be around mid to low 14's... the auto should be equivalent to the 2001-2003 TL-S/CL-S autos....

I agree. The 10 hp gain is offset by the slight weight gain.
