How Fast Are Dodge Hemi Trucks..?!?

Long story short a guy/vendor I deal with picked up a 2004 Dodge Hemi 1500 series and wants to race and keeps saying he's going to smoke me.. I know nothing about these trucks other then he says 345 HP and 375 TQ.. Am I going to get killed or what? I have no clue how heavy they are or what their 1/4 mile times may be.. Give me some insight if I should back down or race him..

I have CT headers, intake, b-pipe and UniChip if I can get the chip straightened out..

you'll still whoop his ass. those trucks are heavy and aerodynamic as a brick.

You sure about this ?

Just read they are 0-60 in 6.3 ... Which would mean it would be extremely close..

I'm afraid of his TQ.. lol

Not sure if I should race him from a stop or a roll..

I’ve had several of the big V8 SUV’s & trucks try and get me off the line at red lights.
Not really street racing, but just trying to get a jump on the light in a 0-50 surge.
If I pull out somewhat aggressively, they usually get a car length ahead at best.
Once I shift into 2nd and get the revs up I easily start reeling them in.

in second gear you'll make most of your money, after 45, most trucks get bogged down aerodynamically increasing there after.

One thing you also have to remember his inability to get the power to the ground in the truck, there is little weight over the drive wheels so it will be a lot easier to spin his wheels trying to launch. I have messed with a hemi powered durango and it wasn't overpowering at all, I would have expected more.

If he loses maybe he will go get an SRT-10 and want to race you then....this should be a definate lose situation for you.
