That's interesting, but I think factoring 0-60 and/or 1/4 mile would make for a more valuable information. The mazda 3 for example is fairly slow considering its power and weight.

doesn't really work w/ used car prices. My legend, i sold for $2500 ended up w/ like a SpD of like 24,000. i guess i should use the new car value, but I don't know what that is.

My little 250 ninja, got a SpD of 40,000, using the MSRP of 3k. not including the weight of me, or fuel. I think including me and fuel, it'd be down to like 24,000. haha.

Neat graphic, but ultimately pretty superficial -- it doesn't tell me anything I didn't know already. Reminds me of the stuff I see at work.

2,760 on my Accord V6 and my old 02 Maxima is 3,219. (An SRT4 would probably top that list given that is was a considerable bang for the buck.)

Interesting way to scale 'bang for the buck'.

Ms3 is still great bang for the buck, especially in its class

[(HP/curb weight)*10,000/Price*100,000)=bang for the buck.

It's actually a pretty slick little formula...

It's just the power/weight ratio with some constants and price...

Now I just need someone to make a RWD hardtop 2+2 coupe with 260 or so HP that weighs about 2700-3100lbs for under $25K

Greenie, look for the BMW 135 to make it stateside this fall.

2+2, 300hp, 3100lbs for about $35gizzle. It will have a better power to weight ratio than the last gen M3.

Yeah, that's a possiblity but it might not make it till CY08...

https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...&page=16&pp=25

As I've said in the 1-series thread in the autonews forum, the 128i or 135i might be my next car. While I don't like the runflats and the Automatic Start-Stop function that's been rumored to be on the 1-series/2-series, I'll at least take one out for a test drive... It's the closest thing to my wishlist, with the Mustang being next in line (s2k and miata aren't practical enough for me, and the rx8 has too many issues, all other rwd's are over 30K).

But I really am a cheap bastard... My CLS was my first new car. I just can't seem to justify spending more then $30k on a car, especially after drving used cars for over 20 years. While the other extreme is to buy a $15K Fit or Civic cause it would get me to work just as well as my CL does, I understand that your have to pick you spots on where to spend money (and enjoy life a little).

I'm really all about the bang for the buck, and my CLS 6spd fits that category quite well...

Your next purchase should be the jaws of life, to pry your wallet open

Mustang is iconic, but it's also a fat pig w/ outdated rear suspension.

RX8 is cool, but has no torque.

Yeah - I feel your quandery.

Edit, how about a Z?
