How am i ever gonna sell my car?
My TSX is my first car, and being 16, i have to check with my dad before i buy any parts for the car. The other day he raised a good point that i hadnt thought about..how am i going to go about selling my car when the time comes?
in your experience have dealers given you more/less money than regular for a modified car?
have you gotten more money selling directly to another person(enthusiast?)?

my dealer said about my alpine cd player/exhaust and intake doesn't matter. he recommended me to replace it w/ oem parts cuz he'll pay the same amount for trade in even though 3 parts are aftermarket.

things like that can go both ways....you can find people who are looking for things just like that and will pay more for it...or you can scare away people who are looking for a durable car....something that people could have reassurance that certain things havn't been toyed with by unprofessional hands....etc.....it can go both ways...it just matters what kinda person you get..

now about the car:I'd ask around dealers take it in. If they are "low balling" you take off some stuff take it to other dealers.
My experiences has been this. Usually you get more if you sell it privately.(meaning put an ad in the newspaper or online) only time dealers really deal on used cars(atleast with me) is if they got someone waiting on file for a used car EXACTLY like yours.

Just save all your OEM parts. Once you are ready to sell the car switch everything back and sell the aftermarket parts.
MOST of the time a modded car will hurt your resale. Easier to sell a stock car since you wont have a limited market.

Keep your stock parts if you ever do a mod, put them back on BEFORE AN APPRAISER EVER HEARS ABOUT THE CAR, sell the aftermarket parts for a couple bucks when you get your new car (or before, if you want a little extra cash for the purchase), and once again DO NOT TAKE A MODDED HONDA/ACURA TO A DEALER FOR APPRAISAL. You'll only lose value in the car.
If you have anything more than an upgraded head unit in the car (ie: intake, exhaust, stickers, bling of any sort, something that gives a hint of a modder), you're going to give the idea that the car has been driven too hard.
If you don't believe me, I've worked with 7 different appraisers at the actual dealers, known tons of wholesale/used car buyers, and sold over 500 cars in my time...You'll get less for your car if it's modded when they get the first hint that there is a trade-in involved in the deal.

man, thats harsh
i know a lot of the things i'm gonna do to my car are very hard to reverse...
1) the short shifter is literally glued on to the bottom of the stock shifter
2) when i installed my CAI it was nearly impossible to get the resonator out, i know i'll never get that back in correctly
3) getting new shocks and springs in april(installed professionally) i'd have to pay a professional to uninstall them and put the stock camber kits
4) i don't even have the factory exhaust anymore
has anybody sold their car to another person directly, somebody who is into modded cars or something?
