Honda owner blasphemy! Just purchased our first Infiniti.
Back in 2011, my wife and I purchased our first non-Honda Vehicle together after some careful considerations, the Jeep Grand Cherokee. Well, a year and 10 months and one set of twins later, we're finding the Cherokee just wasn't big enough with the crap-ton of stuff that is virtually required to haul around with kids these days. Did our parents really pack half of this stuff?!
Also, being back home during the holidays we were noticing that we had just enough space in the GMC Acadia that we rented. The versatility of a third row seat also proved invaluable for a couple trips where we hauled 3 other family members up to Cleveland. It pretty much cemented in our minds we had to get a 3 row vehicle, and I was pushing for a minivan (Honda Oddysey), but my wife insisted she wouldn't be caught dead in a minivan. So the search began for a 3 row crossover began. Our criteria were style, price, technology offered, comfort and fuel economy. In the end, the Infiniti JX35 was our choice.
Here's a quick shot of the day after it arrived:
Some quick features that I'm digging:
Birds Eye View Camera: gives you a 360 degree look around when you turn it on; and it doesn't just have to be in reverse!
Radar-Sensing Cruise Control: You can set it according to how many car lengths you want to be away from the car in front of you, 1, 2 or 3.
Many different automatic braking functions: even if you don't have the cruise on, the vehicle still monitors what's in front of you and will apply the brakes if it notices you're not doing it to keep that distance away from whatever is in ahead of you
Rain Sensing Wipers: After having these in the Jeep, my wife and I consider regular windshield wipers to be too annoying to use, haha
Lane-Departure Warning: When we turn this on, it's funny how many times we'd veer out of lanes in normal driving, but this system slightly applies the appropriate brake(s) and it will steer your vehicle back into the original lane.
These are just some of the crazy features we like. Also, I love the huge 8" display that's both touchscreen and can be controlled by a mouse-like joystick. That's the perfect compromise between what we like (wife likes touchscreen, I like the joystick).
Also, the 3.5L w/ CVT might seem boring and in some cases lacks a little low-end grunt but it will haul ass in other situations. Also, since this JX clocks in at roughly 600lbs less than our Grand Cherokee and is built on the Altima Platform, it feels so light and nimble on its feet. We're pretty happy with our purchase so far.
More pictures to come!

Nice pickup. It looks smallish in the TV commercials but it's got three rows of seats, so it can't be that small.
The bird's eye view camera function rocks. It won't be that long before that functionality is in most cars. You heard it here first.

I REALLY like the JX...and I love the ability to get to the 3rd row with a car seat in the 2nd.
And I know how you feel...My twins are two...We did the first 20 month with a prius. And in the time we had rented several vehicles during trips...Durango (LOVED/wife did not) Flex (LOVED/ wife did not) Acadia/Traverse (didn't love).
ended up with a highlander based on an amazing deal, and we don't know how we got by without it. We really like it.
Congrats on the pick up.

Nice pickup. The JX has some very nice features, that I wish were in my MDX Tech. That Around View Monitor with Moving Object Detection is an extremely helpful feature.
If the JX had the FX37 powertrain then I would have definitely opted for it over the MDX.....SH-AWD notwithstanding. But, 248lb-ft is a little weak for a 4400lb SUV. (Perspective: I think the 270lb-ft in my MDX is slightly underpowered.)
All in all, Nissan did an awesome job with both the JX and new Pathfinder.

Be interesting to hear your long term thoughts on this new ride in the future, but for now how about some interior shots.

If the QX had the QX70 powertrain then I would have definitely opted for it over the MDX.....SH-AWD notwithstanding.
