Honda hubcaps/lugs question-please help!
Hi all,
Here's what I'm trying to do. I have an '06 TSX. Last winter I put 16" Blizzaks on steel rims on the car for the season. I drove around all winter with just steelies and it looked like a damn cop car. In Wisconsin, it doesn't really matter because all cars look like crap all winter so I guess it's not too big a deal but I'd really like to throw some hubcaps on this season if I can.
Here's the thing: I found a set of used 16" Civic caps on ebay but when I called my local Honda dealership's parts dept to check out the price of them new, the parts guy said I'd need these certain lug nuts with a black washer on them to hold on the hubcaps. First of all, I always thought hubcaps stayed on by clips on the back of the cap that hug the rim. Second, even if they do require lugs, why wouldn't my Acura lugs work?
Anyone know what's up with this or have any other suggestions for hubcaps??

The only thing I'd add to the above post, is that if your steelies are not factory Honda wheels they will used a conical seat and factory wheels(and lugnuts) use a ball seat. If you have aftermarket wheels just go to Pep Boys for a set of hubcaps that clip onto the wheel and are not secured by the lugnuts, like the factory hubcaps. If you have factory wheels and want factory hubcaps, check with a few salvage yards, you may be able to get them way cheaper and then ask for the lugnuts too, while it may sound foolish factory honda lugnuts with the washer are $5 or $6 a piece, when you multiply by 20, that adds up. A salvage yard will happily sell them for MUCH cheaper.

Damn. Ok..looks like I'm stuck with the crappy aftermarket ones that clip on. Well at least I know. I did see some on ebay that are clip on style "replica" Honda hubcaps. That may be the direction I go in. Otherwise there's always the local auto parts store.
Thanks guys. Helps a lot!!

I personally like the look of steelies. Used to have a black spec v with tinted windows and had black steelies on for winter, all blacked out
I just got 16" steelies with blizzaks, putting them on Saturday-probably will leave it w/out hubcaps.
