Honda

Does anyone think honda will start making more affordable performace models besides the civic ?

Nope. In fact I don't see any of the manufacturers doing it. The closest thing I see to it these days is the Lotus Elise which is affordable for the performance you get, but probably isn't affordable for someone shopping Civics... Actually I would put the Vette in the category too, but we're still talking 50 large.

The Elise is hardly affordable. When someone say affordable performance cars, I think about Miata, Civic Si, and other cars in the $20k range.

I would like to see the re-intro of the Del Slow. I always thought that was a cool looking little car.

There's no money to be made selling to people who are looking some affordable sporty car. Look at Toyota, they make tons of money because most of their cars target people who can get a new car every year.

Honda has no need to offer a performance car right now. They can drop the S2k and not miss a beat. For what they are, the civic SI and V6 6speed Accord coupe and sedan offer enough performance for the buyers of Honda vehicles. And if they want a little more, they can get some HFP stuff. Plus, with Honda being primarily FWD, understeer and lack of FWD traction will limit performance.
