here's a weird question...

Does anybody get emotionally attached to their cars?

I had my integra for 10 years...fixed it up to the way i like, beautiful clean looking car, but feel that i'll be spending more money maintaining it in the future.

I'm in the market for a TL but it sucks to let the integra go

The last day before it leaves my hands is tomorrow.

I'm not sure if I felt this bad parting ways with my ex'es

haha

My 2005 TL replaced a 2000 Honda Prelude which I absolutely adored. I've always named my cars and it makes me feel more attached to them. My current theme is characters from The Matrix:

Trinity - 2000 Honda Prelude
Tank - 2001 Toyota RAV4
Persephone - 2005 Acura TL

You're not the only one dude. You're not alone!

I had a 2000 accord ex coupe that I had a hard time parting with before getting the my 2005 TL, but now that I have the TL it's just so much better and I have not looked back since.

So keep it! That's what I tend to do. If you had it for 10 years, it's prolly not worth much anyway. And your insurance may even be lower if you say you primarily drive the Integra. Absolutely have an emotional attachment to my Talon. The amount of hard work and sweat on that car there is no chance I'll ever get rid of it. Have had it for about 6 years and we've been thru thick and thin, can't even tell you how many timing belts I've hung on it, how many times I've pulled the trans, etc.

Heck, I'm having trouble letting go of my 95 Accord Sedan when I get my TL this summer...thinking of keeping her as my winter beater, but wife is worried about the extra insurance cost...

Persephone - 2005 Acura TL

Persephone in the matrix, I think, is Hotter than A TL haha

But I like.....

Parting ways with a car is like losing a Dog or pet when they die. Your sad for a little bit but then your happy with the new one....maybe its me or im insensitive.

I always shed a tear when I get rid of a car, but I usually keep cars for 5-7 years.

i left my 96 honda accord LX....green...whenever I see the same color and model on the streets/freeways...I give it the proper respect...I don't even get mad if one happens to cut me off....

same time when I had my honda accord LX...when I left my 88' Tercel...whenever I saw it on the streets/freeway...i let it cut me off and stuff...

sounds stupid, huh?

My car is my daily driven car from point A to point B so I'm not really emotionally attached, but if someone parked next to it and I see them slam their door at it, I will get kinda pissed and do something rational.......

Never been to attached to either of my TL's

I loved my '88 Accord to death and I have had a few cars before that one too (Accords and a Civic)

To me, I think its because that '88 Accord was the most fun to drive.

I just got rid of my 94 legend with 246,000 miles. only needed oil, brakes and such never a problem once. was mine for 4 years, driven back and forth to practices and school for 6 years before that. lots of memories in that car.
