i was thinking i shouldve got the srt but i've been with my STi when it first came out in 04'. The power is very nice with the gt35r on C16! i just feel bad when i'm losing alot of it going AWD when i only need FWD..
i live in california and my main competitiors are M3's, vettes, vipers, AMG's, etc. nothing beats the look on the owners face when i'm right there with them doing 160mph.
i don't think its rocket science to know if you have enough horsepower to break your rear end loose going 90mph you're asking for trouble. the fact that the power in FWD set up cannot do this makes me feel more safe. the HP i'm pushing would make it suicide to go to a RWD set up
so your third gear got you to 90mph. at a 90mph there won't be traction prblem, but if you blip the throttle on a 550hp rwd car with a slight steering angle, you've got a problem. i just don't see that happening on a FWD setup..low speed traction is not an issue when you're trying to accelerate as fast as possible at high speeds.
i've had friends pull a muscle in their necks because the lauch was so ridiculus

Hi,
my goal is to have a freeway puller and i would like to reduce the drivetrain horsepower loss and have the power make me accelerate even more. my set up now is a gt35.82 on C16 and i do fourth>fifth>sixth gear pull. any lower gear starts will only result in freeway burnouts on FWD and that wouldn't be good.
i've tried to do search for this but all there is are rwd conversion threads and vague threads on fwd conversions. basically what i know is to disconnect the rear and welding the front diff but i would like to know in detail what i need to dissconnect and where. also what parts that need to be welded.
i am really happy with the horsepower my suby is making but i would like to get all of it and lose as less as possible through my tranny.
Thanks!

Just when I think I've seen it all on the internet, some spectacular asshat comes along and moves the goalposts again. FWD for the ultimate in high speed stability? Uh, okden.
I like how he claims to see the owner's faces at 160mph.
