is it a constant noise? Or does it sound like its on the wheel, like you can here it that its on something rotating. I dunno how to explain that better lol

This. I think you have it right. It is not a constant noise. Sounds like it is a point in the revolution of the wheel. I had the wheels checked and they are all straight now. Or round....you know what I mean.

Do you hear it more turning in one direction or another? Meaning if you drive at 40 / 50 and turn (like a good sweeping curve) does it get louder? If so, that could indicate a bearing issue.

Yes for me it does at least. I believe its comes more often when i turn left. Sometimes when i'm going straight I'll here it too, going right i dont here it as much, and sometimes I wont here it at all

More in one direction than the other is typical of a bearing issue. I'd have the front bearings checked. It sounds like the problem.

Is it a hum or a whine?
To me it has to be one of four things:
Road noise from the tires (very common/normal on the DWS)
Wheel bearings
Power steering whine=low fluid or air in the system
Something in the transmission

Even though I love the DWS tires due to their wet/snow traction I hate them for road noise and this issue that you are having, its due to flat spotting. The DWS are notorious for flat spotting.

Sounds like it may be tire noise or a bad bearing.
Do me a favour if you can. Find an empty parking lot and bring the car up to speed where you commonly hear the noise. Carefully place the car in neutral, and shut off the ignition. Do this a few times, while going straight and turning the wheel slightly from side to side. Also do it a few times while gently applying the brakes. Tell be what you hear. Be careful when you do this, and don't perform this in a public road.

- Does the brakes still function properly if the ignition is off? I am not sure. On my Infiniti I think it took a lot to stop the car from moving with the ignition off.
- I really only hear the noise over 60 mph. It will need to be a long ass parking lot.

Nope, but you can still use the brakes to stop. Just takes more pressure.
60mph? OK, I won't ask you to try it over 60 mph.

I have found that the radio really helps. I just tend to listen to a lot of sports talk.
I have gotten old.
Plus if I have to listen to another Lady Gaga or Kesha song on the radio I may have to yank the f-ing thing out.

I must be doing a better job tuning out the noise. I am taking it back to the tire shop to get them rotated tomorrow and I will ask them to recheck the balance as well. I guess I got spoiled with the I35. That thing was as quiet as a mouse. Big difference between H Rated Touring tires and W Rated Performance tires.

alot of the times are the tires. Rotate your tires and see if the noise changes or disappear. If the sound changes (louder or quieter) then it is your tires.

Usually tires making humming noises when they are close to bald. But in some cases depends on the type/brand of the tires, they can be noisy even when they are not bald.
my gf's civic is having the same problem as u.. for the over a year already. We are just waiting to wear out the stock tires.

I know this noise - feels like your bearings are shot. I had it on my TL last year and on my Accord a few months ago. On both occasions, the noise was tire-related. It is amazing how loud the noise could be - even with very subtle tire imperfections.
After rebalancing, the only way to dismiss tires as the culprit would be to temporarily swap all 4.

just deal with it. The noise actually gets better after a while because they will eventally be worn out evenly.

That's unfortunate. What type of roads do you normally drive on?
The stock MXM4s (Grand Touring tires) were a very quiet tire on my TL, while my Advan S.4s are just as quiet as the MXM4s (UHP tires) on asphalt, but slightly louder than the MXM4s on concrete and grooved concrete.
I had heard that the DWS was supposedly a quieter tire than most. Sometimes, noise occurs when unidirectional tires are rotated and travel in the wrong direction (the DWS isn't a unidirectional tire, AFAIK).

It shows up as I get over 60 mph.
I contacted Continental and they said that I still qualify for their 60 day Customer Satisfaction Guarantee. The problem is that the only other option that is available is the Conti Pro Contact which is a 3 season tire or the General G-Max which is not yet in production for the size we need.
I have another 3 weeks before I really need to make a firm decision. I am also waiting on the tire shop customer service to call me back. I have asked that they pro-rate the tire and allow me to return the DWS and get something else. If they go for that I have no idea what I am going to get.
