headlight bulbs
headlight bulbs
The headlights on my girl's 01 jetta aren't hid or halogen, they're look just like all the regular ones from the 90's.
What is a cheap way to make these look better....i don't want to spend 300 bucks on an hid conversion kit, i heard something about just replacing the bulbs w/ xenon bulbs or something, but do these last long, or are they usually shitty quality??
Please help me out, i really know nothing about this, but damn the bulbs just look shitty as hell....i want them to look more of like a cool blue.
Also, besides the xenons, are there any other cheap alternatives?

Only problem with just replacement "xenon" or such bulbs is get ready to replace them every 6 or so months. Now If you went with a nice HID kit, your problem would be solved. I have a 6k McCulloch Plug and play HID kit on my Integra, and I love it. Got it for $285 Shipped to my door with a 1 year warrant on Ballasts and 6 months on Bulbs.
Still may not be helpful, but it's something to work with right ?

Just to clarify, it in no way resembles HIDs but it is noticeably "crisper" than other conventional halogens.

Thats good to hear. I have read about instances where the Silverstars burnt out relatively quickly. I was thinking of getting my sister some for her Grand Am GT

As my wife waits for me at the train station each evening, it seems that my van's Silverstars are much whiter than all of the other halogens of all the other cars waiting. But I wouldnt call them "white", just noticeably "whiter".
Sidenote: I've used other blue head lighting in my minivan and most dont last too long. Worse yet, they usually dont have the effectiveness of regular halogens. But the Silverstars do the job pretty well so far, and is worth the money IMO.

ive read on other forums of people complaining that sylverstars dont even last a year. ive used nokya's on my previous 2 cars and they not only lasted long (still working when i got rid of the cars) and even though they were high wattage they never melted the harnesses
