I was flipping thru the channels the other night and saw an ad for the Ion Redline.

The kid on the commercial was like 'Yeah, I could've bought a BMW (Z4), but then I would have had a slower car'.

I was like WTF?!?!?!

I don't have exact specs, but ok... let's pretend for a second that maybe the Redline is quicker ..... Does anyone really want to be seen in an Ion? Is there really anyone out there that thinks the Ion is a good looking car? Could you really tell your friends that, 'Yeah, I looked at the BMWs, but they just didn't have the get-up-and-go that the Ion Redline did'.
What's next?! The Vue Redline out performs the BMW X5 4.8is and Kia is building a supercar to compete with Ferrari and Porsche?!?

I think through this ad, the execs at GM have just admitted that the people that are looking at Saturn are clearly NOT the same people that are also considering BMWs, Acuras or anything else worth while. I'm glad to see they are finally coming to grips with something a lot of us have known for quite some time now.

All GM TV commericals are so fucking .

How about the new employee discount at GM. "You pay what we pay."

If that is'nt a bunch of crap.There is no mention of the thousands they had to lay off to get you that price. Or the fact that they are lossing millions each quarter.
But they try to make it sound like they give a damn and they are doing it because they want to help you save money.

 

I haven't seen the commercial, but it sounds extremely . GM needs to pull their heads out of their collective ass, and start doing advertisements that highlight the qualities of the car. If they are going to do any sort of comparison, they need to compare the Ion to its competitors. Oh wait, it's direct competitors are cars like the G6 GT!

this commercial has been around for a while. it's supposed to be funny...but apparently no one sees it that way. it is a stupid commercial for sure though.

 

reminds me of the jeep grand cherokee is faster than (insert slowest model of a luxury brand here) commercial.

They actually showed it outrunning a 325xi and a TT. Big frickin deal.

Lets see that baby flip over when they hit a small bend.

And yeah the redline is still a damn saturn.

i went into a saturn dealership @ the mall due to boredom. you could rip off all the body panels with ur pinky finger, very lame. many body panels are just peices of flimsy plastic attached to the car with 3m tape. im not kidding...
