It happened again...........................

The rl needs tires and an alignment and the timing belt/water pump and trans flush needs to be done, so i traded her with 90k on the clock and bought this,

I pick it up on monday. It's a certified 2009 base with 40k. The price was right, i get rid of my old school car, will get better gas mileage and a more current car.

This one has a timing chain so that service won't have to be done @ 105k. It is unbelievably clean. There are no scratches, dings, anything. The front is chip free for the time being. The glass is spotless and stain free. The interior is perfect like the outside.
There are four new tires, new front brakes, new filters and of course an oil change.

It will need to have the tires rebalanced since it shakes pretty good. The other thing i noticed was the rotten egg smell from the cat. The car has been at the dealer since may, i don't understand why. So the sitting and short trips aka test drives may have some build up in there. I'll have to blow the carbon out of it.

I have a problem.

Are you sure the shaking isn't a more serious issue?

I'm not sure, but that's a great starting point. The tires were just put on so i would assume a greenhorn mounted them.

If there is a more serious problem the warranty will take care of it.

There is also zero curb rash or scratches on the rims. It also comes with all season rubber mats and the one for the trunk too.

Bent rims wouldn't fall under warranty.

Nice job. Just stop needing tires and you'll keep you old car.

Very nice upgrade! I like the 2G TSX...probably because it's the size and design the 4G TL should've been

what kind of shaking is it?? Is it constant??

It could be the axle too, I think I have that problem, but for some reason in D4 I dont notice the shaking when accelerating around the 20-40mph range, so I drive in D4 at city speeds

edit:and congrats!

Congrats! Is that the v6?

With 4 new tires and new brakes, I would be concerned about the shaking - especially, since it is pretty bad. You probably want to get it back to the dealer ASAP. If you wait too long, they could reverse blame.

If the tires are new then you know wheels were balanced at the time of install, when getting them rebalanced ask the shop to check if the wheels are straight. A small ding will cause vibration to come through especially at speeds higher than 60 mph.

That's what I was trying to get at. You have a 2009. V6 wasn't offered until 2010 model. Therefore, ..... ah, nevermind.

So with 40K on odo and new tires.... If tires will last 45K-50K, then that means another new car in X years?

Nice buy...hell, let the dealership do all the work on your RL, and then buy it back for a weekend car!

The timing belt/water pump and trans flush and tires all at once was the deciding factor, and i was tossing the idea around for a newer car.

Sweet ride! I love how a lot of members trade their older Acura's right before the timing belt needs to be changed lol

Are the tires new as in recently or were they put on in May? That might explain some of the shaking.. flat spots!!

Congratulations on the car and color

Congrats. Sweet ride. I'll have to stop by and take a look at it one day on my lunch.

Hopefully it's just a poor balancing job and not a bent wheel. I had problems with that when I purchased my TL. It worked out but it was a PITA.
