The only thing I don't like about the painted wheels is how they typically leave the lip unpainted (the white/light blue car). The green and orange cars look much nicer with the full rim painted IMO.

996 Gt3-rs
from my trip to Switzerland and France last summer... I saw this in the mountains of Switzerland, sounded and looked great...
the last few pictures my brother hung out the window of the car as we waved the guy by, he gave us the obligatory fly by, it sounded amazing ripping past us...

after looking at the high res version of one of the pictures with the tunnel I guess we took the pic on the E35 when we were driving to Luino, Italy we stopped there and in Lugano, Switzerland that day...

So is the European version different than the US or is the one you saw a different year than the one I saw? I like the center exit exhaust and wing better on the US one personally.

What i took a picture of is the older 996 GT3-RS which I believe we never got in the US...
The first one with the center exhaust is the brand new 997 GT3-RS which is also now sold in the US... also for some reason i think that one in particular might be a regular GT3 with badging and paint job... I am only saying that because the badging is different and the wing is not the usual RS wing. It looks like the regular GT3 wing...
also if you look closely in my pictures you can see the factory roll cage...
^ Nah, it was definitely a real GT3RS. It has the roll cage too, you can see it in the picture I took right near the middle of the wing. I posted a video of it on page 1 as well and you can see it there, too. Who knows, maybe he had the GT3 wing installed as an option because he liked it better than the RS version, which I agree with. But it makes sense it looks slightly different because it's a newer version.
Actually I've been looking at GT3 RS pictures and you might be right about it being a GT3 with RS decals and painted wheels. I did see an online brochure and the roll cage is an option for the GT3 as well. I noticed the mirrors on the one I saw in person are white, and in the brochure for the RS it says side mirrors in contrasted color which would mean they should be red. Wow, would someone really spend that much to make it look like an RS instead of just ordering it as an RS? Weird.

yeah seriously, if you are spending that much already just go all the way if you really want an RS...
it just seems like something is off on that one, i could be wrong though...
