Yes, it's a great performance car, but it still doesn't excite me.

I wonder what excuses we are going hear this time on why it got such a good ¼ time.

1. The guy drives for Nissan so he knows how to make the car go fast
2. C&D are being paid by Nissan.
3. This car is a special version just for the mags that has more HP.

0-60 3.3seconds, 1/4 in 11.5 doesn't excite you. You better get out some rocket boosters then

For me, anything that goes 0-60 3.3seconds, 1/4 in 11.5 is going to be exiting.

I'm not.

And from the looks of the GT-R vs. Z06 vs. R8 vs. 911 TT/GT3 threads, lots of other people aren't either.

This is coming from a die-hard R34/R33/R32 GTR fan. Those cars make me jizz my pants everytime I see one. Simply put, the new GT-R is incredible, but not that desirable. Come to think of it.... there hasn't really been a single DSG/SMG/DCG car I've fallen in love with at all yet and I doubt there ever will be. I don't give a crap if it has cluthes or not, I still consider it an automatic with shift paddles.

No excuses here, that's a great ET. I do have issues with not using a production car though. The traps are about 4mph faster than the last two previous tests I've read.

I'm not alone in my thoughts. This car has amazing performance, but there is so much more to a car then the numbers.

Fast? check.
Ugly? check.
Technological overkill? CHECK.

It just seems like they took the concepts of all the Japanese rally cars and put it on steroids with all the electro doodads. I commend them for beating whatever it is they we're aiming to beat, but I think they put that before making the car a worthwhile drive.

Doesnt excite me either. They #s are great, but the car it self looks like shit. Thats my personal taste. The interior looks outdated and like something out of the 80s, they exterior is to big and bulky looking.

Oh and as for this, I would say Preproduction Mule. Who knows what isnt stock on it.

I think you should bold my whole sentence, instead of focusing on one part of it. Now where did I say that it isn't a worthwhile drive?

Thats it? Nothing about its brilliant suspension? Amazing value? Nothing?

Tough crowd to please if a $70k Nissan that does 3.3 to 60 and runs 11.5 doesn't impress. Then again, this is the internet.

The only way 0-60mph in 3.3 seconds would not excite me is if my occupation was that of an F-16 pilot.

I think what he's getting at is that anyone can get those numbers.
1. Point car down a straight
2. Press gas = 3.3 sec to 60
3. Tell the world how good of a driver you are because you got to 60 in less than 4 sec.

I am by no means a pro behind the wheel, but I'll take my 6-spd TSX any day of the week, because I like the idea that I have at least some sort of control over the car.

When this car hits the streets, I'll look, may even stare, but I won't cream my shorts like others will

Probably the only one there...I think the GTR hits top speed by the time the TSX hits 60....shifting or no shifting, I think hitting 60 in 3.3 seconds is about as breathtaking as it gets on land. Imagine when one of those tuners release a reflash for the turbos
