I wouldn't. You can get all the ODB codes off the web and in most cases what to do to fix the problem.

according to the linked Amazon page for this scanner, it can clear the CEL.

Yes, all the Actron scanners can clear ODBII codes.

The best part is that it checks readiness monitors, hard to find that in a code scanner under $100. I personally don't like Actron scanners, they don't hold up as well as there competition, though for individual use that's pretty much a none issue

Yeah, I saw the cheaper $49 Actron in a flyer this weekend (harbor frieght ??) but that one didn't have the readiness codes... this one seems to be a good deal for the occasional home mechanic... especially since it also has th readiness monitor.

For those of you who don't know, when you clear the codes and the CEL - check engine light goes out, you have to wait till the system is "ready" before you can get an OBD II car inspected....
