Grace period for tickets in nys
I received two tickets back in february for an un-inspected vehicle and an un-registered vehicle while going to get each one done. At the time the cop told me that I had 10 days to get both done, I did both in 7 days, went to court and the cop lied about telling me that and the judge said that rule does not exist, does anyone know what the grace period is in nys for this? Thanks!

If you already did them does it matter?

Yes because I would like to appeal the decision, I was told by the cop that pulled me over that I had 10 days to take care of the inspection and registration and in court he said he did not tell me that. I am trying to confirm what the law is.

this might be the same when i used to have an aftermarket exhaust on my previous car 4 years ago before i bought the TL. I passed by Nassau Blvd in Garden City while doing 25mph on a 30mph, and the cop pulled me over for my exhaust saying its illegal (had it for 5 years and had no problems with a cop). And to top that off he bitched about my radar detector!
Anyways he told me I had 10 days to take care of it and they will drop the charges, ticket for $175 for an exhaust!!! meanwhile it wasn't even that loud it was just deep. But i returned it to stock and mailed the photos and I havent heard from them since, that was in 2006.
