Got rear ended...

Got rear ended...

Got rear ended by a Tahoe while coming home yesterday. I was able to control the vehicle and steer it to the median so I didn't hit the car infront. Good thing is no one was hurt, infact even the Tahoe didn't have much of damage (just a broken light and bent fender. It was an older couple who were on there way to a family gathering 4 hours away and they were able to make it. I was on my way to get the kids from the Daycare so I am so thankful that I didn't have the kids in the car. Had this happened 10 mins later, it could have been worse.

State trooper deemed the Tahoe operator at fault. Haven't heard from the adjuster from the their insurance yet. I have a feeling the insurance company is going to give the run around. Hoping this get's resolved fair & fast....

It's a 2000 . The damage looks to be north of $4K so I am also thinking it will be totalled. Also in the second pic you can see the frame so it might be a costlier repair.

If it is totalled then I hope they settle fairly.

glad you didnt have the kids and you are fine. i'd say about 8k in damage, but totaled even if the bags weren't deployed

I haven't heard anything from the adjuster or the appraiser, but the tow yard guy said that the appraiser said to them it is totalled. Their claims dept seem to be closed until 1/5 so won't know until next year errr I mean next week.

Adjuster called today to inform that the car was totalled. She said the repair were aprpaised to be in excess of $12,000.....

Been looking at some RL, 740il and 540i. But most likely I will get another RL.

The were offering NADA value, and I countered with avg of NADA and KBB which was $400 more than what they were offering. We agreed to meet mid way and decided $200 more than NADA + taxes.

^ Nice. I'd stick with the RL. I don't know how much you want to spend but a cheap 7 series is going to cost you a lot of $$ in repairs and upkeep

The one I was looking at earlier had a major accident, and we found that (thanks to Carfax) we dropped the deal. Then we found another 02 RL but that had some paperwork error and I wasn't interested in getting a car with NAM title.

After going through a couple we finally picked up a NBP/Ebony 02 RL with 120K. I need to get some major maintenance items taken care of. Other wise it has been well kept and had newish Toyo Proxes on it and also came with a remote start.

The 02 RL drives so much different than our older 00 RL. Its feels almost like a different car.
