Got A New (for me) Convertible
Got A New (for me) Convertible
Picked up this car yesterday in Orlando while visiting Florida. The car is supposed to arrive in my driveway by the end of the week.
2006 with 12,698 miles and a clear bra up front. I am not sure it is specifically rare, but I do not recall seeing many without a black soft-top. It has the same color scheme as my old S2k.

Looking forward to driving a fun vehicle!

Nice ride.... And the silver top is a bit rare. Plus, it's the newest of the BMW's without the "i-Idiot" function I believe. Or is that it in the middle of the knob stack?
Hope it works out for you.

nice! great color scheme. always been a fan of these, esp. the coupes.
not trying to rain on your parade, but how do you like the interior?? The dash seems a bit bland. But then again, so was the S2K.

The dash is very plain. To me is makes the car more about business than flash.
The interior is nice and more roomy (it seems) than my old S2k. Also got the heated seats the S2k never had. The radio and the gauges are definitely vanilla except for the tach. The redline is variable based on engine temperature (I think) and had LED indicators to show the current limit.
No i-Drive in this car. I do not know if it is even available in this series.

Congrats. You'll love the car. Completely different feel than the S2K, but I think its more fun to drive.
Z4s don't have to many electrical problems since they have very few control modules compared to other BMWs.

Thanks everyone. The waiting is exhausting. I am definitely looking forward to the first long drive in the car.
As for the roof, I am not aware of any issues. I am going to search for a Z4/M forum. I imagine there would be one. From there, I should be able to learn more about the car. The remote transmitter (integrated into the key) will put the top down. The top stores much better than the one on my old S2k.
This car should be more fun than the S2k, but the S2k had a better gearbox.

My girlfriend and I lined up with one of these at a light once, the guy looked over and told us "nice car" (we were in my girlfriends cooper s convertible, his was silver too) we smiled and I said "thanks I was thinking the same about yours." All I could think to myself is
"that coming from the guy in the M Roadster" :gheylaugh
enjoy the car!

Thanks. I just read in a Z4 forum that production on the M has been discontinued. There were a lot less made than I expected. I jacked this text from the thread.

Figures given were 5070 roadsters and 4275 coupes built .
Yep, here in North America we got 1,815 coupes and 3,030 roadsters, so over half the production is here. With the rest spread over the entire world, they've got to be thin on the ground in most places.
