Some winter better LOL that'll be a good car in the winter months and that was a pretty damn good deal you got there as well. I like how yours isn't the 2-tone paint. Looks good.

nice beater! Those new Imprezas are nice.

The new front end looks great in person. I went and looked at the new STIs and WRXs and really liked it.

Now say out loud Shawn and repeat after me: "I will not drive like all the other Subaru owning idiots in the world" I swear around here, Subies became the "minivans" of the left lane hoggin' soccer mom world.

You'll like the car. My wife got a Saab 92x Linear in May (rebadged Impreza RS). If you had been shopping a few months ago, you could have gotten an equivalent Saab 92x for about the price you paid for the Outback, with more sound insulation and (objectively) a better exterior. However, the real deal was the Aero 92x (WRX) that you could get for less than 19k at the height of the GM discounts.

Anyway, nice purchase. Subies have served my family well throughout my entire life.

I expect to see some posts in the home and garden forum with you building a new single garage for the expected Vette in the spring. If you start now, you can get the foundation in before the snow...

Close, but……
Current plan is to put a small 8-Foot “bump” out the back so I can get a third car in there.
Right now the existing garage is 30-foot deep and just a few feet short of getting two cars in there end to end.

No, not me.
I’m having a hard time as it is keeping this thing under 4,000 RPM for the break-in period.
It likes to REV. It goes pretty good for a 4-Popper.
The stick helps. I hear the Slushbox really robs power on these cars.

I'm the only one I know who loved the new front end when I first saw. I think it looks great!

Be careful when ordering all-season mats. Have a bud with an STi trying to get ahold of some good ones. The OEM mats he go were pretty small. They had deep ruts, but they were thin, so he wore a hole under the pedals pretty quick. Then he ordered a set of WeatherTechs, and they didn't fit right, even when customer service confirmed he had the right part number. I dunno if it was because it was an STi or because my friend is dumb, but keep an eye out.

If you go to the Subaru website you would think that.
The 2005 data & pictures are still there.
Edmunds.com is more accurate then the manufacturer of the car.

Yes, that’s one of the reasons I went with Subaru.
They’re known for excellent value over the long run.
Every once and a while you see a 10YR old one come up on EBAY with 150,000 miles on it.
And they still sell for 3-4K or more.
Not many sub 20K $ domestics with 150K that are still running.

Plus I like the idea that it’s still a CAR.
As you know, I’m not a big fan of top heavy, gas guzzling SUV’s.
But still the AWD and extra ground clearance will be helpful in the winter.

The CL-S is officially gone now.
The buyer came to pick it up on Saturday.
It should be somewhere between PA and Florida right now.

Hi Bill…
Man ... Shawn ... I feel guilty ... like I took your child!

The car is sweet as sin, resting, freshy de-bugified in the garage now!

I'm gonna place an order for a Zaino kit tomorrow so I can blind people around here ...

Sweet ride, man! I love the new nose. Check out my old one. I had a 2000 Suby OBS. Bought it new when I worked for Suby it had 2 miles on it when I got it and 90,000+ after 3 years. I loved that car. Swaped the front end for an RS cover, installed bright ass blue off-raod lights, debadged, tint, 16" Outback alloys w/fat ass tires, larger rear anti-sway bar (you should deffinately invest, it'll handle 100 times better, you'll thank me later!), ski rack, and it came stock with the "dual spoilers". I loved it. Don't get me wrong, you can't touch it flat out on the highway in a snow storm! Seriously though, for one season, I had Bridgestone Blizzaks on it (studless only on a Suby they say), and it was a whole different car in the snow. You'd be LUCKY if you slid at all... 70mph+ on snow pack easy! Check it out. I say, nice purchase man!

^^^^^^^ I don’t plan on ANY mods to this car besides tinting the windows and hard-wiring for a V1.
It handles pretty good right out of the box and I don’t want to screw with that.
I love the fact that I can hit a pothole or uneven road and not worry about damaging an expensive rim.
I must admit at times I wished I’d have left the CL suspension alone.
Sure it looked great lowered and handled awesome, but the ride was somewhat annoying on rough city streets.
I took a 2005 Vette with the Z51 sport suspension out for a test drive this past Summer and the suspension felt SOFTER and more forgiving then my CL-S.
That was a big surprise.

I would have gone with a WRX if this was going to be my only “fun car”, but I’ll keep that money in my pocket for next year.
