Unless I am missing something on how it works and maybe there is another feature on it to work. The video is also a bit behind to the point I would say about a 5sec delay and this was when I had the camera mounted on my back bumper and my phone up front with me in the car.

The wifi also kills battery really bad. From what I have read it seems you only get about 1hr with 1080 and wifi on. If wifi is important if I recall correctly you can get a much longer time with the 2 and the wifi back on it. The battery is the weakest part of the 3 it seems. Almost would have been better I think if they didn't make the camera any smaller so they could have put in a larger battery compartment.

The main reason I wanted the 3 and specifically the Black Edition was for the high frame rate you can do so I could do slow motion affects when making videos. The 720 120fps will be nice. I think it can do 1080 at 100fps as well.
Thanks for the info. Thought it had a better range then that... but not even close to what I would need. I've been aiming the camera no problem since I got it last fall, so I guess I'll just stick with the 2. No need for the high frame rate or anything. 1080p on my helmet works just fine...

I'll second CCC. The Wifi is worthless for distance and there is a delay in the video streaming to the iPhone. Handy, however, for short distances and actually taking a look at what your shooting before doing so

Fun fun I have only had my Hero 3 two days now and I am getting a NO SD card error. I hope it is just the card but the fact I can get to the data with it in my android tablet appears to mean it might be the camera from what I have been reading online.

A card format worked after 3 formats but that worries me why it happened in the first place and will it happen again.

Seems like it would be a cool thing to have, and I'd rather have it built-in then spend the money to add it to a GoPro2...

Decisions, decisions
While looking to see what all other goodies I could find that they make for the GoPro I found this adapter which might allow you to do what you want with the video stream for the pit area to watch.

You can get 20% off GoPro right now at REI.com using this coupon code. MEM2013

BestBuy is being annoying and won't match the price so I am having to return mine and then order one from REI. You can use the code with in store pickup though so you don't have to wait to get it.

I keep getting:

MEM2013: Your cart doesn't contain at least 1 qualifying coupon item.
Also, if your not an REI member, there is a one time $20 fee to join.

EDIT - I r rutard. Got it to work, but I might stop by Best Buy tomorrow to see if theyll match the price since Im still paying tax.

Figured I'd bump this instead of starting a new topic. Here's what's going one:

Had a GoPro2. Loved it. Used it for a variety of things but not very often. Thing looked like it just came out of the box. Out of nowhere it started freezing, then completely locking up. Then you just couldn't turn it on. Luckily I bought it at Cycle Gear who has a 100% satisfaction guarantee. Brought it to them, they swapped it out for the Hero3.

At this point I have yet to open the Hero3. I know they are having freezing issues as well, so I am at the point where I may swap it out for something else. I have been eyeing up the the JVC Adixxion which Cycle Gear also carries. Another advantage to the JVC is that I would not need to buy all new memory cards.

So two questions for you camera guys:

1) Anyone have the Hero3 and if so... how has it been working for you?
2) Anyone have or know someone with the JVC Adixxion?

As mentioned above, I do not use it often... mostly when racing (both indoor and outdoor). I typically mount it on my helmet.

I am leaning towards the Hero3 especially with Cycle Gear having my back... but still any feedback is appreciated.
