very nice, this is the first time Im hearing what the V8's sound like.. glad they don't sound much different than the sweet V10's did.

Contrary to what the title states, the engine in that video is a V10 from the 2004 season. Not a V8.

If you look closely at the engine itself you can see, and also at the end, they give the specs of the engine and the engine name, and it says, 'RS24', which was the engine from the 2004 season.

Theres a video of the new Honda RA106, and the sound it made (V8 engine) was quite similar to a V10, so its not that bad in terms of sound. Infact, it was quite a nice tune.

 

Yes. The car used in Top Gear was the R24, which was raced in the 2004 season.

And that engine in the video, which was a V10, was part of that package of the R24.
