Congrats on the purchase. One thing you might want to look for is an exhaust. I find the OEM exhaust of a VQ sounding pretty good in the normal range (low / mid rpm) but sounding really awful when it approaches redline. This is a 1st gen G coupe we're talking about.

The G37 however ... that OEM exhaust sounds intoxicating in comparison...

BTW, I am not a fan of the G35c interior. If it was even close to the fit & finish of the 2nd gen G coupe, I would have traded my TL-S in back in 2004. Also, the 6MT transferred a lot of NHV to the stick, which is weird for a 'luxury' make. It's better in the G37 but still quite noticeable ...

Well, as far as engine mods, go, I don't plan on doing much, considering this engine doesn't take too well to basic mods. To get some power, you definitely have to go FI. However, I already LOVE the way the car sounds stock, and wouldn't want to modify that too much. So, what I'm thinking of doing is getting the Z-tube / JWT Popcharger for the growl in the upper RPMs, MDE 5/16" Iso Thermal Plenum Spacer which gives 11-15whp throughout the powerband, and either Crawford or Fast Intentions High Flow Cats to make that wonderful exhaust note just a tad bit louder .

I just installed my '06 projectors the other day and bought some Luminics JDM Yellow H1 fogs, and damn does it look tight! Definitely worth the money spent. In addition, I took off the front plate, so I just have to get the tow cover and bumper plugs to clean up the front, and I de-badged the rear, which looks much cleaner. I'm gonna try to install the rear valence and the roof overlay tomorrow if time/weather permits, and then I'll finally take some pics of the ride for you guys.

Next on my list is:

Eyelids
Paint the OEM Grille Semi-gloss black (or should I do matte black?)
Black chrome rear Mt. Fuji emblem
20/25mm wheel spacers (this is a maybe)

I'll keep you guys posted

Actually its very relevant.

Try making this statement when you live in a city where you are spending as much or more time in your vehicle then your own home.

At this day in age, specially in highly populated areas with lots of traffic, we DO live in our cars.

thanks Sec , and yes I have the BOSE 8spkr system. I actually like it, and think it sounds just fine, but that's just me.

I actually REALLY like the interior of my car, and it seems everyone else does so far too. Tilt/telescoping leather wrapped/etched steering wheel, 8-way power driver w/ lumbar adjustmnet, 4-way passenger, heated seats & side mirrors, auto-dim rear-view & side mirrors, 8 spkr BOSE system w/ mp3, dual climate control, etc etc ... I love the damn car, even more so after the minor mods that I've done. BTW I finished installing the rear valence and roof overlays today. I start my job tomorrow, but I'll try to take some pictures tomorrow evening in a well-lit area if I can. The car looks GREAT with them on now.

True, but there's no such thing as a "crappy" Infiniti(I hope I get a new M when I go in). Whenever I went to Acura and they would try to give me an RSX, I'd be annoyed.

I bought my G on 3/31, and I absolutely love it!! I notice alot of people say the interior sucks, but I like mine (I also have carbon fiber trim, most g's don't). To the OP: Good luck with your new G, dude!!!

You may be admiring the interior of your new car a good amount of time but unless you live inside your car, I can almost guarantee you'll be spending more time driving it.

The interior of the TL is not THAT much better than the G35.
I'll take the better drivers car, thanks

definitely get the MREV2 (or just find a stock non-revup lower plenum which is similar) and the 5/16"Motordyne Spacer w/ Isothermal. As far as the popcharger stay away from it and just stick to the stock box since it's got a great design already with the little "ram air" situation they have under the hood. z-tube is great and you can find one off of a z-owner for no more than $40-45 shipped. HFCs are nice for power but a pain in the ass depending upon where you live and if they require your car to get sniffed.

I've got all those except the HFCs and in addition I picked up a set of Nismo headers that seemed to go a long way since I got them for a bargain at around $600.

Other than that the only real power you're gonna get from that engine is FI. Everything else is not cost efficient.

Good luck with the new ride! I've got an '05 coupe as well and have really enjoyed owning it. It's not as large as my '03 6MT CLS but I feel the RWD greatly makes it an upgrade.

Hopefully I'll pick up a vortech sc soon and call it a day ... oh and I love the '06+ headlights, got them on myself. where did you find the H1 yellow bulbs for the lower lights? I've been looking for them.

Right, are you caressing the dash and massaging the leather as you're driving your car too?
Bad example, the G has nicer leather than the TL.

i'm sure no one will state that the g35 interior is a 'dump'. he just values other things more than a nice interior. i definitely believe that in this case where the TL's interior may be nicer, yes, but the g35 is just a more fun car to drive all around.

Let me put it to you in a way you hopefully can understand.

You LIVE in a house.
You DRIVE a car.

The standards of the interior of a house are quite different to that of a car.
You would expect the interior of a house to be nice, just like you would expect a car to drive well.
That's why the comparison was laughable, get it?

It's white, right? For a minute there I was thinking, "When did Infiniti make a G35 in yellow?"

Great car. I almost bought one myself. I have a dog, so it would have been trashed.

I bought it from blue_batmobile; here's his thread on it...

He has installation instructions and everything. It's a bitch and a half to do, but well worth it.

Just a little bit of an update. I bought and installed Crawford High Flow Cats, Z-tube and an Intense Power Y-pipe, which sound awesome. I just received my eyelids today, which I might tackle tonight, if not tomorrow perhaps. I should be receiving my Kinetix V+ plenum next week, and that should be it for engine mods. I'll be getting the grille painted semi-gloss black, and the rear emblem black chromed pretty soon. Besides that, I MIGHT get 20/25mm spacers for the wheels to widen the stance and fill in the wheel wells a bit better, but besides that, I'm just about done. It's coming along nicely, and I can't wait to finish the remaining things on my list. I LOVE this car !

I don't like either of the stock spoilers on the G35c whatsoever. Especially the pre-06 wing. It screws up the flow of the rear completely. If anything a little lip spoiler looks good, but I prefer it to look clean.

Finished painting the grille and rear emblem today in a gloss black....3 coats primer, 5 coats gloss black, 3 coats clear.

I know, getting GOOD pictures is next on my list, lol. As for the plenum, it ended up not working out after 3 installs (it was damaged), so I'm picking up the motordyneengineering 5/16" Iso Thermal Spacer kit this weekend instead. Just thought I'd keep you guys posted. Hope you enjoy
