Good price??

So I have been looking for a second car/truck so that I wouldn't be putting so many damn miles on the Vette. Anyways, I found a 1993 Toyota 4Runner. It has 119,300 miles, rust free (there was some rust around the rear fenders that was repaired), new front brakes, cold ac, and generally clean body. It is a 4x4. They are asking $4,500 for it. What do y'all think??

you could talk him down to 3500-3800 that would be a very good deal. 4500.00 is a decent deal. Great choice for a second vehicle, my fathers "98 SR5 4Runner gets 23mpg on the highway and it has 98k miles. Pretty good all-around SUV and they run forever.

It looks decent and has low mileage for a '93. According to Carpoint their reliabilty is OK and the '94 is a little better.

I agree with sbuswell and that you should talk them down 700-800 dollars. Looks like it's in good shape.

Yeah, I talked with the guy some more and he said that the timing belt has NOT been replaced yet (something which in my view should have been done). He has replaced the caliper, rotors, and pads himself. There was a leak on the a/c low pressure side that was fixed by "welding" the aluminuim pipe. He says that there is no oil leak and that he drives it everyday.

Oh yeah, all the diff fluid is original too.

Is it automatic or stick? OH, FIND OUT whether or not its a V6 OR V4. If its a v6, be weary, because the 3VZ 3.0L engine had a recall on teh head gasket and it shoulda been replaced by a dealership. I have a 1994 4x4 V6 ext. cab 5 speed, fun to drive around, but man, eats gas like a muddafucka! Get about a good 260-270 miles on a full tank, and takes about 35-40 to fill up, on unleaded. The seller I bought my truck from, had given me a carfax report on it, and it showed on there. The 4 runner, shouldn't be much different.

Yeah, it is a V6. I have been hearing about the headgasket-thanks for the heads up. Gas is an issue, but not that big off a thing. If I get around 16-20, I will be happy.
