I'm pretty sure anyone who actually cares that you're driving stick knows that MS3s only come in stick.
Why? Is it a bad thing to do? Who am I offending by doing that? I just don't get it. That's all.

In my Mini it has that feature where when the clutch is engaged and it senses that i'm on a hill, it will hold the brake for 2 seconds to insure I don't roll back.

But once it does release the brake after that initial release I can roll back and forth 'til the cows come home!

IIRC, letting your car going into neutral will turn your car into an idle state, which would waste more gas, than if you were to stay in gear and letting go of the pedal. I only say this because my AEM A/F ratio reads at "---" while I keep the car in gear while coming to a stop, meaning there's no gas being injected through (lean, with just air). But while I'm in neutral, it would toss in the car into idle, and my A/F ratio stays at 14.5-14.7, meaning it's tossing fuel in the engine (obviously, so it will not stall).

I'm sure it wouldn't make a dent in actual MPG, but if you were to go down a LONG hill, I would suggest to keep your car in gear and let it roll down. Instead of tossing it in neutral, where you would be wasting gas.

So all that.. "going into neutral trash while coming to a stop will save you gas" business, is a bunch of horse

Oh, boy. I'll let someone else take this name-calling, tough internet guy on.

By the way, read your own links.
I'd be nervous if you had "repaired" one of my cars in the past.

Ray: Used correctly, the throw-out bearing will last much longer than the clutch disc. But if you sit at red lights with your foot on the clutch pedal all the time, you can wear out the throw-out bearing before you wear out your clutch disc. And because that's an entirely preventable condition, we call that clutch murder in the second degree.

you should.

so i was right, sitting on the clutch pedal wears out an important part of what is required to operate the pressure plate and disc, but i'm still wrong

My challenger has that feature as well, which I have been using...but I can turn it off in the computer.

Your own source says you wear out the throw out bearing, aka release bearing, when depressing the clutch for prolonged periods of time.
NOT the clutch itself.

Yes, you're still wrong. Thanks for admitting to it.
Now if you can work on your politeness, we'd be A-OK.

Hmm... I merely corrected him, he attacked me and now I'm defending myself and I'm at fault according to you.

hmmm he made in an incorrect statement that was nicely corrected by another member, he accepted it and moved on.

You came...made a post simply saying false. Nothing else offered until he came in and said it had been discussed and rectified already. Then, you had to keep posting like a little know it all.

Yeah, you're at fault.

Well, he is the master, he thinks that a well cared for clutch will only last 125k.
