Don't GM vehicles come with 5 recalls as standard equipment?

Nah, that's the option package. Dealers typically throw it in for free.

Lastly, GM recalled a total of 5,914 of its 2004 to 2005 Cadillac XLR and new 2005 Chevrolet Corvette sports cars to fix a brake line that could leak.

How can Cadillac be at the top of the quality rankings with stuff like this? I guess the AARP crowd that buys those things just take sutff like this for granted.

Lexus outsells MB here in the US, so I would say yes.

Just another example of how GM and the other Detroit manufacturers keep R&D expenses down by letting the purchasers do the product testing.

That's only a small slice of the total pie - I'm not sure that Toyota outsells Chrysler, especially with all the minivans, 300Cs and Dodge Magnums they're selling lately, not to mention all the fleet sales.

The actual reason why these cars have been recalled is not too different than our rear light wiring harnes fix. I guess it can happen to anyone.

First GM recalls over a million cars. Next it recalls itself out of the IRL. I wonder what'll be next to get recalled?

Its only one problem, I'd hate to think this being Acura and people accepting it as one problem.

Being the largest car manufacturer means that when there is a recall, it will be large. If Honda actually recalled those trannies that were prone to failure, it would have reached the millions. Guess thats why they extended the warranty and denied the problem.
