Angry getting screwed over

today i have to make a decision about my car....

I'm so torn..

1. remove muffler and exhaust, put stock parts back on, give up my greddy parts...(all this work will be done by a grease monkey who can't even rotate tires properly)
2. try to make the dealer buy back this car
3. keep the car as is, but can't drive it
3. try to get the dealer to give me stock parts and let me keep aftermarket ones

GRRRRRRRRRR

I don't want to change my car!!!!
I like it the way it is!!!!
I don't want that asshat dealer working on it!!!!!!
I don't want to pay for any of this crap!!!

*long story short, bought the car this way from dealer, cops caught me (not street legal) got the law involved, dealer has to make this car street legal with no expense to me*

I know he's gonna put crappy parts on...probably got them out of a junkyard...

Not happy...

What kind of car is this?

Just get the dealer to put the stock parts back on, but keep the aftermarket ones. THen once the whole situation with the law is cleared up, switch them back.

WHy is the exhaust illegal anyways? Too loud?

97 integra...

ecxeeds 86 decibles..(which is a ridicuously low sound level, i think)

see the thing is, i think that this dealer wants my parts and then is going to sell all my OEM parts, and stick me with crappy ones (cause legally he can keep them)

but i paid for them when i bought the car, i think they should be mine no matter what..

illegal here in the boonies:

Window Tint: no prob, i can tear it off myself
tailights: All areas of tailight lenses must be tinted red or orange (excepting reverse light) so no clear tails..also the part that wraps around to the rear quarters of the car must have red reflectors...(mine are silver) so i need new tailights completely
exhaust and muffler - exceeds 86 decibles
ridiculous....

so is there a way to quiet down my greddy or will i have to take it off completely?

probably just resonater..or cat converter maybe....

most stereos are louder than that around here...
it's not like i can't hear a police siren or something....

plus all the a**hats that drive around in their trucks with rust holes on the box, blowing smog all over me and their mufflers dragging on the ground, and probably putting out 120 decibles of noise...

did they prove it's above 86 DB? You sure the law isn't 95 DB? That's what it is here. Greddy is very quiet, you shouldn't have a problem. I'd fight the ticket first.

what taillights do you have? Are they DOT approved? Taillights do not need to be completely red.

Post a picture. Tailights cannot be orange from what I understand. Which greddy do you have? Their may be a silencer, but a bigger resonater is another option.

retards...

my tailights are not DOT approved i guess...That's what i've been told

but here, a lot of aftermarket stuff is illegal...every province has different laws but saskatchewan is the most strict

The Greddy Evo and Evo II are two of the quietest aftermarket exhausts out there. The law is interpreted differently by everyone. You may have just caught someone on a bad day.

If the dealer is CHARGING you to put street legal parts on your car, then technically you can ask for the aftermarket ones back.

If they are not charging you for putting on OEM parts, then you really can't claim you paid for the aftermarket parts, because they are doing an "even" trade.

So your little 4-banger integra noise level is somewhere between the inside of a motor buss and a heavy truck?

Window Tint, yeah you can get rid of it
Tail lights- Thats bullshit, As long as you have red bulbs and a red reflector back there, you are fine. Just look at the Lexus RX330, not one ounce of red on the tails.
Leave the exhaust piping on and just put on a small muffler or a large 22 inch resonator and a cat. Where the hell do you live?

not true at ALL, the lenses need to be DOT approved, atleast in the US, that's why all the APC altezzas went through some shit. The lexus ones are DOT approved
