Get back on the bike...

I got in a pretty bad wreck last year riding my bike in the canyons, including a helicopter ride to the hospital and some minor amnesia. I'm wasn't a wreckless rider, but just seems I went too wide in a hard turn and went over the guardrail.

So I thought I'd "get over" the whole bike thing as time passed... but I'm finding my desire to get back on gets worse and worse.

Anyone here get back on the bike after a bad wreck... ? Or maybe went from street riding to motorcross or something similar?

Over the bars @ 70kph, slid across 2 lanes of traffic for about 100 yards. Trashed my helmet and letahers. Got back on, but never, ever, did it feel the same. A lot of the fun was gone...older now, not as big a deathwish as I had in my 20's.

get back on ride again.

Might want to take some racing courses at the local track. Since you live in Cali they are all over the place. Go ride like a nut at the track man. You can never count on the same road you drive down being in the same shape every day. It's the guy who gets too comfortable and say "i drive down here all the time" that ends up eating it. So easy for someone to leak oil out of there car, have an accident and ruin the road. Have a truck drop some gravel... roads are always under constact change. Pushing a bike to the limit on them is kinda nuts...

I use to race non professionally on my bike at the track, and I'd try and keep all of my falling to either my dirt bike or the race track. Broke a bone or two riding the dirt bike, but no biggie. (and a concussion or two , I lost my short-term memory once) But I still got back on... Mind you I did this at the track or off-road... I never pushed my bike hard on the streets/roads...

Good your still with us, now go get back on your horse
