Not sure how big of a difference there it between the base and S, though.

The base model is slow. The Type S is slightly less slow.

Both are good cars, but if there is a Type S variant of any Acura, why would you even consider the base model??

If you're looking RWD, have you considered an IS300? They can be had with a clutch (if you're looking at the sedan, of course).

This is a pretty good option with either transmission. They'll go for 200K+ miles and generally are reliable. I think you can get one now for about $5000 with decent miles in a decent condition. Great option.

No, it would be a repost, and then you'd get a nasty PM.

I've been driving with 115 hp for the past year and a half. Everything is fast. :tomato: And I won't have too much money to put on top of whatever I get for the Jetta. But the IS seems like a good choice I hadn't considered, thanks.

Speaking of which, SSFTSX just called and said he's going to remain absent from the TLX thread until you stop sending him naked pictures of yourself.

JS + XES 01-17-2014 12:07 PM

I wonder what SSFTSX would have said about TLX.

oonowindoo 01-17-2014 12:15 PM

is there anything else that he hasn't mentioned? He even said about the Superior Rear window washer on the X5.

JS + XES 01-17-2014 12:16 PM

He doesn't like them. Apparently his junk is better than mine because he's got more ground clearance :snicker:

Correction - discuss the merits of all season tires (which I don't need because I live where it's 75 and sunny in January).

I would love to e-mail you and discuss the merits of me burying you into a 15 foot snowbank. :keke:

But, I'm classier than that. :O

I curse Phoenix to a blizzard storm!

In the insanity weather that is up here, and the fact oil $$$ is everywhere, the fact that Porsche 911s are driven all-year round on the AWD platforms gotta say something about those cars and their ability to take on some insanely harsh weather and roads.

I want one.

Yumcha 01-17-2014 02:14 PM

AND ZIPIT before someone tries to be cute and says I could've used the $$$ I spent on the sea cucumber on a used Porsche 911.

My wife wouldn't have let me drive a 911, alright?!? :bored:

+1, but I'll take mine in the RWD flavor.

They don't drive them now, but two local "celebrities" here who are big property developers used to go around in NSXs all-year round in the early 2000s. I was told by the tire-shop guys that they'd slap on winters and off they go...

So, it is doable. But, then again, I've never seen any of 911 GT2s in winter. Summer, yes...there are a few that roam the city.

That's because you'd hoon it down some mountain road and almost kill her (again).

Yumcha 01-17-2014 02:23 PM

Speaking of Porsche and GT2s...I hope this rumor is not true: http://www.leftlanenews.com/porsche-...ot-return.html

Like you wouldn't. :smirk:

Yumcha 01-17-2014 02:25 PM

Look, if I have a Porsche 911, the first thing I'm doing after I leave the dealership is 1) giggle like a schoolgirl hysterically for 15 minutes straight...and then 2) flooring it to the Rockies and driving like an idiot up a mountain road. :O
