Garmin 1490T will not boot to map..

Garmin 1490T will not boot to map..
It boots to the Garmin sign but locks up from there. I even bought a wall charger hoping to boost the battery level but no luck. Of course, I did the guy thing and never signed up the warranty and I bought off Ebay.
any ideas?

just call garmin and tell them your what is going on. When I updated my maps my garmin crashed and wouldn't load and I called and they fixed it for free. all I had to do is pay for shipping.

did you try hooking it up to your compute had an issue where my garmin would reboot itself every ten minutes, and then just lock up after a while- plugged it into the software, and it seems to clear the issue up..
