G37S acceleration chart

I did some acceleration testing a couple of months ago on my then brand new G37S and thought I'd post the chart. I used Dynolicious for the iPod Touch which I have heard is fairly accurate. Anyway, here's the chart:

0-60 -------- 5.38 sec
1/4 mile ----- 13.94 sec @102 mph

Not too bad for a green engine and no brake torqueing. Anybody else got this app for the iPhone/Pod?

i HAD it on my iphone until i upgraded to the iphone4....no jailbreak yet. id rather not pay for it

it seemed somewhat accurate with the occasional silly readings. i had a low 13 second G8 GT and it would peg me at 3.9 0-60 and 12 second 1/4's. kind of funny. 75% of the time it seemed accurate.

That seems to be a rather neat application. How does it determine speed and what not?

I still have not found one that is not optimistic. In the old days a few of us took g-techs to the track and ran the cars down the 1/4 with them installed and mph was sometimes 9-10mph high! The ET was close with a 10.40 but mph was nearly 140mph. I've never run the iphone app but a friend did recently and his 12.90 car turned into a 12.1 car and 4 extra mph. Some of this is understandable since the mph at the track is an average between the last two beams but it's still not off by more than a couple mph.

I wouldn't think about using these numbers to compare to actual 1/4 runs. If they were consistant it would be nice for comparing mods, launch techniques, etc.

THese numbers seem to be in line with what most publications have gotten with the G37 so I'm guessing its not too far off....

The accuracy of the application is only as good as how its set up.

Some of these applications ask for vehicle weight, cD, and a whole bunch of other crap. If you aren't spot on, obviously the applications wont operate to their fullest potential. With that said, the hardware itself needs to have good sensors and [preferably] gps.

I agree with that for sure. I've just seen too many of these things that were terribly optimistic and none that were pessimistic. Maybe it's marketing, who knows. But taking it along down the dragstrip puts all guesses and theories to rest.
