G37 - Driveway pics
Well folks, was just surfing the g35forums site, and found this:
Some Pics:

I was driving by (in my brand new 2007 G35 sport w/ Nav + Tech - which finally arrived 2 weeks ago), and I see in his driveway ...
THE 2008 G37 COUPE! I live in Toronto, Canada by the way.
I slammed on the brakes ... parked in front of house to take a look at it in person. I finally said to myself - gotta knock on his door. So I do. I introduced myself, came out and asked him - "How the hell do you have a G37sitting on your drive way? I thought they weren't being released until June?".
He told me he works for Corporate Planning for Infiniti, and that he always gets the new cars before they are released. Anyways ... we got to talking about the 2007 G35 and the G37, and he said that the power difference between the two are barley noticable. He also went on to tell me that the 3.7 litre engine will never make it into the sedan as it WON'T FIT. The engine is too big. That should answer everyone's question as to why Infiniti decided to go w/ a 3.5 for the sedan and a 3.7 for the coupe.
He also told me that he should have the GTR on his driveway in the not too far future. I asked him if he knew about pricing. He said its too early to tell, but he said around $80k Canadian (about $71K US).
Just so no one thinks I'm full of shiat, I took some pics - I didn't have a camera (other than my piece of sh*t blackberry camera). Here are the pics I took.

Now in regards to getting it, mostly leaning towards to it. It all depends on how it looks like in person. The new interior I really like, but there are things about the new car which I dislike. so let see

I don't understand how the "engine can be too large for the sedan."
They increased the bore and stroke, it doesn't lengthen the engine by doing that. Besides, it's a FM platform, there is a lot of room forwards if the engine did happen to grow at all. I call

you know if I was someone who worked for Infiniti Corporate and some stranger knocked on my door to inquire about a car in my driveway, of course I would give him the benefit of the doubt that he's not:
1. inquiring to later steal the car
2. trying to get into my house to rob me
3. a corporate spy for another car company
So of course I would tell him everything about Infiniti's future plans. After all, I did know him since he knocked on my door 10 minutes ago.

The more I see the coupe the more I dislike it. And I agree about the engine not fitting.
Hey babyblue ...
Thanks for sharing ... I must have missed that post when cruising g35driver. I posted something over there about the proposed pricing scheme -- that's a FYI in case you want to consider it. Nothing extrordinary -- no pricing from Infiniti Canada yet.
If the GT-R is around ~C$80k ... that might be do-able for me in a year ... (scheming ...
) In fact, it'll probably be considerably cheaper in the US ... and you know I have no problems importing from Detroit. (Nissan & Infiniti have no restrictions so far with their US dealerships selling directly to Canadians)

^ Nissan may copy Honda/Acura ... ie S2k ... US MSRP = $34k, Canada = C$50k. NSX C$144k, US$90k ... where's the logic in that?
And if I did buy a GT-R ... I would wait until the initial hype is gone. Plus in a couple year's time ... all the jobs will be out of Michigan (Detroit area) and so I would probably be on the short list ...
I might be able to score a decent price with my local Nissan dealership since I went to school with the general manager. He's hinted to me he'll take care of me
