just got a phone call from Mission Viejo Infiniti, I think they are willing to get me close to invoice, i'll know more when I get back out to cali and go and talk w/ them. I'll do some bidding between Costa Mesa and MV

I just realized I didn't answer the question at hand in the thread

Scott, I honestly don't picture you in a G35. Out in SoCal I think you'll grow weary of seeing your car driven by 16 y/o Laguna Beach bitches everywhere you go. I say go for the Magnum R/T or a GTO buddy. See if you can get an 04 GTO in that awesome purple color with matching interior

Love the jag, hate the reliability, we've had a few friends buy "R" cars and all loved them, till ayear later. Also don't want used Unless it's an M3 or S4 avant

Everycar out here has 16 y/o laguna beach bitches driving it. I want a 996TT too

The GTO is just bland, and the 04 I drove had shitty suspension which has since been upgraded so I'll give it another look.

I love the Magnum, but I keep remembering I want a sports car, which the magnum is not. However, if I can "somehow" swing an SRT8, i'll get it

And again, the trailblazer SS is still a strong contendor

the rims on the 05 g35's look a heck of a lot better.. just googled around and found this:
The G35 coupe is also available with 6-speed manual transmission delivering 298 horsepower. The G35 coupe’s performance is enhanced by a 4-wheel independent suspension with lightweight aluminum components and highly aerodynamic styling.

- Sport-Tuned Suspension Package adds a unique front fascia and side sills and available revised rear spoiler
- Viscous Limited-Slip Differential (VLSD) available on Sport-Tuned Suspension Package models
- Available sport-tuned suspension (Sport-Tuned Suspension Package, standard on G35 Coupe 6MT)
- Available Rear Active Steer Package with vehicle-speed-sensitive power steering system with 15.1:1 steering gear ratio
- Available drilled aluminum pedals (standard on G35 Coupe 6MT)
- Available perforated leather and orange stitching on steering wheel (standard on G35 Coupe 6MT)
05 and 06 may have some differences, so

05 = http://www.nissannews.com/infiniti/2...e/glance.shtml
06 = http://www.nissannews.com/infiniti/2...e/glance.shtml

I'm going through the same thing now. I went and drove the 330i and IS350 on Thursday/Friday. Loved the BMW but will not get one due to still finishing up the grad. degree (door dings, scratchs, etc.). So, either a G35C or TL will be gracing my driveway Thursday night.....SO LONG TA-WHORE!!!!

Hmm...I dunno dude, new STI then. I love the new look and the new DCCD has put the car on a level playing field with the EVO handling wise.

I'm with everyone else, I cant see you in a GCoupe anyway.

The STi is a strong contendor, however many are trying to talk me out of it. Esp. since it looks like i'm getting a sales job where i'll be driving around customers, etc. We'll see though, it's high on my list. Adri says she'll divorce me if I get one, so I keep leaning towards it more and more

Thanks for the info. Have you driven one yet? I may look into that since we're gonna need a truck in my family to tow a boat, and my dad doesn't want to deal with the shity gas mileage.

Bleh, SOOOO many G coupes around its not funny. Plus it seems to be quite the chick car lately.

If you are gonna have to drive around customers, why not get a Legacy GT like Matts? Pretty much same engine as the STI so you can mod it to make tons of power, but its still comfortable to drive people around in? Not quite the sports car, but it would be hard to have a sporty coupe if you have to drive passangers around.

If you are going to be driving people around you need 4 doors. Douche bag clients might get pissy crawling into the back seat with little leg room.

The Legacy GT is an amazing car. Cheap to mod, good looks, AWD handling, reliable, good interior, etc.

I plan on picking one up in a year or so when I move on from the CL. I should have bought one back in June when I bought the new(er) CL

The sticker was $38,040 and then they added the Sirius sat tuner at the dealer (probably another $400-700). However, I paid $35,750 + ttt (woulda been slightly under invoice). This is for an '05 w/ aero/prem/sport packages and is the AT.

I could have had an '06 w/ all the same options and added active steer, with a sticker of close to $38, 800 (this was a 6sp), for only $37,250.

I can say the active steer was pretty cool. Especially when parking, but I drive 25 miles each way to work and 20 of those miles are in bumper to bumper, hour long, 10mph traffic. I got the auto...

I drove an '05 GTO as well. Obviously MUCH faster, handled decently, and creaked about as much as the Infiniti. Nice leather and such, but no fake-luxo like the Infiniti is. The stick in the goat woulda made my wife puke herself, but it felt stronger that the auto whereas the auto and stick Infiniti was kinda reversed (AT G35 felt strong down low, 6sp felt stronger at redline, but even all the same). Anyway, I coulda had a GTO with all the options for $1900 UNDER invoice. While I think it is the most appealing american car out there, it was a no go.

I looked at the 300C SRT8. Very fast as well, modable, room for the family, but a little cheap inside. It actually even handles well. But they want over sticker on those bad-boys, making the deals close to $50k for a Chrysler product (and why would you buy other than the SRT's???). No thanks...

I simply feel the Infiniti is more reliable than a lot of rwd cars and when it's January 2010, I'll give it to my kid. If he turns out to be a little shi+, well, it has the highest resale value in its class...

I'm debating between the wagon and the sedan. I like the idea of a fast fucking wagon but it's still just that: a wagon.

The STI is rock solid. I've riden in them, raced them, etc.

And right now in th eUK I've seen about 3-4 old gen STi's....like the gen BEFORE the bug-eye...I hear them barrleing down the street modded...they still look and sound damn good.

Subaru is reliable as hell....if only they made an STi wagon...that'd be tits.

Cant go wrong with the Legacy GT wagon.

Good luck finding a used S4 avant you can trust...only ones in the 30-35 range are TT models...and they are RARE...I should know.....I was searching like mad for those too.

Used Allroad is an idea too, those are pimp...specially if you can find the rare 6spd. chip it....zoom zoom.

Clarify this for me:

No 5MT in the '06's or the new model ('05+) never had a manual?

yea, the S4 avants are hard to come by, let alone in a 6 speed.
