A 2004 G35 Coupe was behind me this morning on the highway. I've never been to impressed by the styling of the car. When I looked at it in my rearview mirror, I really thought is was a dumpy looking car...it looked like the G35 sedan. I mean, you really cannot compare the TL styling to the G35. The TL is mean looking while the G35 is bulbus and boring.

 

What???!!!! The G-coupe is tight. The only thing I don't like is the headlights and interior.

I agree with Pearl04, I think its my 2nd choice only because its RWD. Styling wise its very subjective, but my opinion is that it has the sweetest look both front and back.

Whoever thinks g35 "coupe" is ugly is out of his mind! :killer:

This ex-Renault stylist did a good job with the coupe. The sedan is another story.

 

Sedan is not as pretty but now has 298hp! (Same as new 6mt coupe). Both cars get tire upgrades and brake upgrades too. I think the TL has just been outclassed in performance.

 

Sorry I know this is old hat but as a car lover the G35 coupe, sedan or convertable (seen in FLA) is a fine, fine car.... I am driving an Acura but they did a great job putting that car together. Looks are so subjective. Either way, look out for the '06/'07 VW Passat..... Looking to take this whole genre to another level.

Well, I can't count how many times I saw a TL and thought it was a TSX especially. Or a Accord a few times.

But the TSX and TL look so close that you really have to look to see the difference.

The G35 looks like no other car.

The Sedan is hot with the nismo kit, and the coupe looks good just the way it is.

 

I think the TL is gorgeous. The best looking sedan under $40k IMO. It looks really aggressive and I'm hoping will be the next car in my household (trying to get my girl to buy it). Too bad Honda can't come up with a luxury coupe in the $35k department. IMO, the TL (or CL) would fail as a FWD sports coupe. Coupe enthusiasts want a RWD sports car.

 

TL is a really gorgeous car, I agree as EZZ said above. I don't think there are too many G drivers extremely disliking TL. I ever heard some G drivers said TL's tail and exhaust pipes look like Pontiac. Urrr, they should try not to be the frogs in the well.

TL could be confused by TSX, especially at night if they all beam you and drive toward you. But from the sides or tail, there are dozens of significant traits making TL distinctive. Most of ppl have no problem to recognize TL & TSX.


Skyline has its own characters, but only Coupe is attractive.

and tsx and tl aren't close either but for some (like u) have to look close to see the difference

 

The TL looks as similar to the TSX as the G35c to the G35s.

 

If you want to get technical, the lower air dam for the TSX has the usual "mouth" while the TL has the bisected (and thinner) air dam. The grille is also different...the TL goes for that thick aluminum center bar in the grille, the TSX has the thin chrome extending from the Acura logo. And if the TSX has fogs, logic rules out that it can't be mistaken for a TL as its fogs are in the light clusters. Probably the easiest way to tell the two apart is to simply look at the side mirrors, the TL doesn't have the LED turn signals.

I think only the headlights and air dams are different on the coupe and sedan G35, the coupe's is more pulled back, the sedan has an extra bar at the bottom of the bisected air dam.

I think it's easier to tell the TL apart from the TSX, but neither one of them looks like the Accord to me.

 

I had a G35 sedan behind me this weekend for about 2 hours (not with TL but with the family mini-van) and I swear with the headlights it has alot in common look-wise with a Dodge Neon. I don't like it one bit.

 

Guess what the 05 one looks exactly like the coupe. They just changed the sedans facia to the one that the coupe has got, the tail lights have also been changed to match the coupes tails, 19 inch forged alloys

It sits low. A little too low for comfort sometimes. Its already difficult to go into banked driveways because the bottom will scrape if you don't approach it at an angle. Any lower and you will rip off the lower lip. Interior is a little ugly but the materials are decent quality. Acura's is better but the G isn't too bad. The ground clearance in the G is 5.3 inches. What is the TL like?
