G35

Lately I've been thinking of buying an '03 or '04 Infiniti G35 coupe. So iv'e been visintg www.g35driver.com a lot lately. Blatently that website his horrible, all of the forums are scattered and you have to pay to have an avatar? WTF. This website is by far much more easier to navigate through and you dont have to pay money to put pictures online!

Anyways does anyone know any other good G35 coupe forums?

In that case, the Hyundai Azera would take the trophy.

Those 2 cars compare in no terms whats-o-ever

Coupe vs Sedan
RWD vs FWD
Hottest exhaust not on a 80k+ car vs not so hot exhaust
270 lbs-ft Torque vs. 233 lbs-ft torque

You may want to look at www.freshalloy.com
Not sure of many G35 sites. Might want to talk to Synth19, he would probably know.

I like the G35 a lot, its a fun car to drive, its not the fastest thing on the road but its fast enough to be fun. Between a TL and a G35 I would go with a G35 all day long, and I am a honda/acura fan. The reason I haven't bought one, is the horrible fuel economy and the early years had lesser quality interior - the new ones are suppose to be better, but the styling is still pretty plain. If you can handle getting 15mpg then I think its a great car.

Well this is a car forum, on the internet, which means most of the people are at least a bit interested in technology and cars. Navigation is the combonation of two things that interest people here, so it works.

I understand...

But choosing a FWD, 4 door platform versus a RWD, coupe over the ELECTRONICS (and a couple grand in price) in it seems a bit ass backwards.

In any case, I love the G and the TL. But if he's looking at the G he is looking at a whole different car than the TL could ever be.

The TL will also have an advantage in MPG...

I'm thinking about taking the MPG hit on my next car, so I can get some torque and RWD again (last car was a v8 rwd).

this is such a TIRED argument. (nothing against you, just in general)

a print out from mapquest/ a map doesn’t give me instant info on the closest restaurant/ business/ whatever im trying to find...it doesn’t give me phone numbers and a button to push to connect to said place thru my bt phone...etc etc

i like to travel and use my navi constantly, i would not consider a car without one.

"premier membership" on g35 driver and my350z is such a fckn joke. I can't believe ppl do it and then try to justify that "it's soooo worth it"

I guess if I were on the road regularly (particularly in areas that I'm unfamiliar with) then, I'd be inclined to get the Navi option. As it stands now, it does me little good while riding NJ Transit commuter rail daily.

I have an AVIC D1 in my Quest and a Garmin SP for use in my Maxima and Murano (if needed); both Navis have been really handy on several occassions. That said, Navi hasnt become a make or break option for my car purchases (unlike A/C). With the recent purchase of my Murano, Navi was a fleeting consideration.....but then again, I already had the Garmin. (Sidenote: Even with Navi, I still print the Mapquest directions.......just in case.)

The navi in the Murano sucks though. I wouldn't pay for it either. In other cars I would be much more inclined to get it though due to better systems.

You can not compare the G35 and the TL, way different cars.

W/ that said, I loved the G coupe, till I really drove one. Found it to be boring.

I suppose for people who constantly travel it would be helpful.

Personally, when I travel, I dont have my car with me anyways...and if Im in that great a need a $.75 411 call (or free if you use tthe free one) and Im on the phone getting directions with the place.

Navi is sweet, dont get me wrong...but for me its just another piece of electronics that can go wrong. Im a cheapass, but I can recognize when something is "worth it." ie: the leather in the G or the HIDs in the TL. Navi doesnt do it for me.

I travel often, have driven cross country 4x's and have done numerous trips around other spots of the country in a car. Never once in a car w/ navigation.

and you can get a whole lot more performance and mods from/for the G. If the guy's shopping a sport coupe, I doubt he's interested in a 4 door

This is so true.. I never considered the two cars direct competitors, I believe an enthusiast would enjoy the G35. A lot of us G35 owners go to the drag strip a lot, participate in drift events.. to me the TL is catered more to the conservative crowd that can appreciate luxury and technology.

IMO with the new vs. used car aspect of it...does that make sense? 0 miles vs. 20,000. Some people like it that way, if I, for instince, were buying a G35, id MOST DEFINENTLY buy it used.

and that has to do w/ bang for the buck how?

BTW, when I was actually shopping for a G35C, I was able to get quoted on one w/ the premium package and 6speed for 34K, new car, no miles.

I've never had a problem at g35driver? I'm not a paid member and mostly hang out in the sedan/detailing/canada forum. For the most part the members are pretty cool as long as you can sift through some bullshit.

through a build or at a dealer? The 19" wheels and sport package are standard on the 6 speeds which start at 33,900. I priced out a TL that would have been similiar and it came to 37. But we all know what MSRP is and what you can get cars for is much different. Reality is these cars are in the same exact price market (give or take 2-3K)

And if you are a car enthusiast who likes to be connected to the road and enjoy performance the G is clearly the pick. THat said, I do love the new TL

btw, as mentioned, that package you listed (actually need the premium package for the navi, but that also still includes the sport package and 19" wheels) was offered to me new at 34K

To the original OP- you might want to check out freshalloy.com There is not as much traffic there on the G35 forums but it is pretty similar to here....

G35 is a GREAT car.. but G35 Forums are :gheyfight:

There are two extreme groups on there.

1. ppl who drive the car stock and call every mod "RICE"

2. stupid ppl who dont know shit
