Fusion needed more power
So I got an Edge Sport. My Fusion Titanium was a great car, I'd get one again, but I've had my eye on the Edge Sport ever since it was unveiled. Has Ford's 2.7 EcoBoost that produces 315 hp/350 foot pounds of torque. Does 0-60 in mid 5s, less than 5 seconds with a tune. Has every single option you can check on the list...AWD, front 180 cam, cooled seats, lane keep, adaptive cruise, BLIS, pano sunroof, etc.
It's a blast to drive. Effortless, no-drama power. The tech toys are fun too.

Very nice, I think it's a big appearance improvement over the prior Edge (which wasn't bad either).
If I were in the market for a 5 seat SUV, it'd be near the top of my list.

Congrats! Any reports on long term reliability of the 2.7L Ecoboost? It's a really great looking SUV and the power and performance numbers are damn impressive! And here I thought my wife's Rav4 V6 4x4 was quick.

The new Edge, especially with all the options like yours, looks very very sharp

I saw one in white the other day and didn't like it. Seeing yours in black though with the dark wheels and that is one great looking SUV. Enjoy! I had no idea they had that much TQ and could be under 5sec with a tune.

Thanks so much guys! I appreciate the kind words. The Edge has been a blast to drive in the few days I've had it (I haven't really obeyed the proper break-in procedure, whoops). Given the 2.7 EB is an engine that can be had in the F150 that's capable of towing a few tons, you can imagine the potency in a mid-sized CUV. You hit the accelerator and you're going 80+ MPH before you know it. Catch it in the right gear and it'll really snap you back. Interior refinement is lovely, soft touchpoints/leather stitched door panels, etc., and the Miko suede seats are very comfortable.
I'll likely do an LMS 93 octane tune in the next few months, just to see how nucking futs this truck can get.
The tech toys are out of this world. I took the pic below just after I parked. I came back to cars in front and behind me...Ford's Enhanced Park Assist has a feature called "park out assist" that can navigate your vehicle out of a tight space by controlling the steering and determine how far forward to reverse or pull forward. And effortlessly, it did. The front 180 degree camera is fun to play with and helps when determining how far forward to pull in while parking.
The tuxedo black paint is highly metallic and is discontinued for the 2016 in favor of Shadow Black, which has no metallic flake at all. Tux black should help in hiding swirls from the swirl-o-matic.

Awesome. I love the Ex Sport too...my buddy has a 16 that I hoon on occasion. I definitely would've been content with one of those too, just didn't need the extra space.

I just spent an hour on YouTube looking at Taurus SHO videos. Damn the EcoTech responds well to a tune. The performance increase is insane. The only thing I couldn't get past is the exhaust note, even with an aftermarket catback. But damn these Ford V6s are fast!

Yeah I'd assume if your engine went pop with that kind of tune your warranty would be moot.

Thank you. I was pretty set on the black with black wheels. The standard 20" polished aren't bad looking, but not nearly as aggressive as the black 21s, IMO.
Yeah that's what I've heard as well. Either way, definitely is a gamble. Right now, OEM, the power is bonkers compared to what I'm used to. I'll give it a few months until I get bored.

Edge definitely looks better than the Exploder
